Morgan Coughlan
For a moment silence was all that reached her ears from the audience chamber, and then while she was distracted with gazing lovingly at Abaigael the chamber erupted into cheers and applause. Startled she turned and gazed at the audience that had gathered there and kind of just stared for a moment or two. She definitely hadn't expected this sort of reaction, so when it came it shocked her. However after a moment or two a wide grin spread across her face, one that she just couldn't help but beam at the people gathered there. Everyone started to chatter then, and somewhere in the midst of the talk she heard several people saying that it was about time and even a couple people commenting on how much easier the queen would be to deal with now that her relationship was public. She did her best not to giggle at those comments, but they did make her grin even wider than it already was.
When the chatter died down she smiled at the audience before dismissing the people in the room. Slowly people filed out of the chamber and once they were finally alone she turned to Abaigael. "I'm sorry that I sprung that on you like that, but I realized about halfway through the speech that announcing our relationship to the public as anything but a betrothal would be like me announcing you as my mistress. And I figured that announcing you as my mistress probably wasn't the best use for my audience chamber," she explained quickly with a nervous giggle. "I didn't mean to put you on the spot and I'm sorry that I probably just scared the shit out of you, but I had to come up with a reasonable explanation for calling them here," she continued to explain. "I love you, and I do want to marry you, but I understand that you're probably not ready for that and I don't know how you feel about being the queen at my side, so I will give you as much time as you feel that you need to actually marry me," she paused with a frown. "That is if you do want to marry me. Even if you say no, I'll probably continue to pester you every once in a while to see if you change your mind," she said with a grin.

Abaigael turned, startled as the audience chamber was filled with applause and such. She would stare at the people assembled there, waiting to see if their acceptance was some sort of joke. She didn’t see a sign of it though, and would turn to look at Morgan, the frown that had settled over her face disappearing as she notices the other woman’s grin. She had to resist the urge to stand and embrace the woman, though she managed to and would merely smile back at her, gently squeezing her hand as the cheering died down in favor of chattering. She couldn’t help but grimace when she heard some of their comments, about how it was about time and such. She kind of felt like it was too soon; she had never even thought that marriage would be possible, and all of a sudden it was just shoved right in her face. Of course she would be expected to marry Morgan now, not that she didn’t necessarily want to. She also didn’t think that the Queen would want to marry again, not after how her previous marriage had turned out.
When Morgan was finally able to dismiss the audience she would glance at her once again, about to speak only to hear her apology, “Well…I mean. I understand that but...” she would murmur with a shake of her head, “That’s what I have been?” she would ask with a tip of her head, her expression pained. She didn’t mind being thought of as a mistress, though she did understand that calling a meeting in the audience chambers just to announce that she had a mistress would be retarded. When she said that she had probably scared the shit out of her she would smile faintly, “Yeah, you kinda did. I don’t think I’m…capable of being a Queen,” she would admit, a grimace once again pulling at her face. “Don’t get me wrong, I would love to marry you…” she would trail off, shaking her head slightly, “But you can’t possibly think that it would be the best idea,” she murmurs. Morgan didn’t even trust her to make the right decision regarding leaving the palace, how could she possibly trust her to rule a kingdom? Of course Morgan would be there as well, and everything but…And that’s when it hit her. She would be expected to not actually rule; she would just be a false ruler. It kind of made her sick to think about it, knowing that she would be expected to be a puppet.

Morgan frowned. "Of course it isn't, but to these people lover and mistress mean the same thing," she said with a frown. "Anything other than betrothed to them means that you're just a fling, whether I'm in love with you or not. Abi, you can't possibly think that I'm going to throw you into this unprepared. This isn't about you being a figurehead, Abaigael. If I can find a way to get you married to me without having to be a figurehead or a real queen if you do not want to be one, I will, but I will pester you until you agree to be married to me, even if it is years away from happening. I know that marriage does not equate to love, but to me it should equate to dedication," she said with a frown. "If you have any want to be a real queen, by all means we will make you a real queen, but I have no intention of making you just a figurehead, Abi. You will either be just my wife or you will be both my wife and my partner. I love you with everything that I have and I will be there to guide you every step of the way. This, of course, means that you will be given more freedom, but it also means that you will need to be more closely guarded. Being known as the queen's betrothed can and probably will put you in tight spots, but I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that you remain safe no matter what. Besides, you are far too much woman to be just a figurehead. I know you can do this, but I will not force it upon you."

Abaigael would frown when she said that of course she hadn’t been a mistress, though she thought for an instant that the Queen had no idea what she was talking about. Of course she’d been a mistress, just a mistress that she loved. There was absolutely no difference between mistress and lover. When the Queen continued an amused smile would fight its way onto her face, though she continued to listen quietly as the woman went on and on. She definitely had a knack for rambling. “I thought you said earlier that I could say no if I wanted?” she would ask with a tip of her head, her brows raised slightly as she waits for the answer, though she wasn’t able to wait that long as she couldn’t help but laugh. She would shake her head after she was done and would move to perch herself on her…fiancé’s? lap. She would then grin at the woman before leaning in to kiss her right on the lips, “You…” she would start only to shake her head. “Of course I want to marry you, you just took me by surprise,” she would murmur, this being her way of apologizing for jumping to conclusions. “Whatever, or whoever, you want me to be I will be. Because I love you,” she would murmur honestly, leaving that decision entirely up to Morgan. At this point she wasn’t sure she cared, as long as she wouldn’t be a figurehead. “But…I’m not getting more guards. It’s not possible,” she would laugh, her eyes twinkling with amusement. The woman already had too many people guarding her as it was, she wasn’t about to let her add any more.

She frowned. "Of course you can say no, but..that doesn't mean I won't pester you and try to persuade you to change your mind," she said matter-of-factly. When Abi moved and perched herself on her lap she couldn't help but smile at her. She leaned up and pressed a soft kiss to the woman's lips. "I love you dearly, and I know I get long winded, but it's only because I'm trying to make you happy," she said with a laugh. "Well, then, I'm glad that you're consenting to marrying me," she said as she flashed a grin. "Mostly because you've literally just made me that happiest woman in all four kingdoms and beyond," she laughed. When Abi said she had too many guards as it was it was all she could do not to snort. "You, my love, will never be able to have enough guards," she said with a laugh. "I'm sorry that I'm so over-protective of you, but to me you are the most precious thing in the world," she said sincerely. She wrapped her arms tightly around Abi's waist and hugged her close, resting her head on the other woman's chest for a moment before she looked back up. "I just want you to be happy and to love me. That's all that I ask of you, and if there's anything that I can do to help those two things grow, I want to be able to do it."

Abaigael would smile when the woman said that she was only trying to make her happy, knowing that it was true. Morgan would do anything in her power to make her happy, as she had already proven a million times over. When she said that she was happy that she was consenting to marry her she would laugh softly, only to absolutely beam when Morgan said that she had just made her the happiest woman in all of the four kingdoms, “We’ve better start planning then,” she would grin, already thinking about planning their wedding. She was truly a girly girl, and there wasn’t much that she would be happier doing than planning the ceremony. And the reception, of course. When Morgan responded to her saying that it wasn’t possible for her to have more guards she would laugh, “I know, love. And I truly appreciate it. But, I’m not that fragile,” she would laugh, leaning in to gently kiss her nose. When Morgan wrapped her arms around her and pulled her in she would smile, reaching up to gently brush her fingers through the other woman’s hair, smiling when she looked up at her and spoke again, “I will always love you, Morgan,” she would murmur softly, though an idea had just entered her mind. It was something that she had always wanted, but never figured would be possible…but if they were going to get married then why not? “What about…” she would start, gently biting her lip, “Uhm. Children?”

She smiled. "Yes, I guess we had better," she said with a giggle. "I know you aren't fragile, love. But that doesn't change the fact that you mean more to me than anything else in this world," she murmured softly. Her face brightened when Abi brought up children. She'd always wanted children; just not from her late husband. "I would be delighted to have our own children; if that's what you're asking," she said warmly. "I'm sure we could find plenty of children to adopt," she paused thoughtfully. "Or we could find a surrogate father if you'd rather," she offered. She didn't much like the idea of either of them sleeping with a man, especially because no one really knew how many times it had to happen or if it would work. There was also the fact that she wasn't completely certain that Abaigael wasn't interested in men. She shook that thought away almost immediately, though. Even if Abi was interested in men she knew the woman loved her and would never intentionally do anything to hurt her. "I love you, Abi, and I want you to know that nothing will ever change that," she vowed to the other woman before she pressed a gentle kiss to her lips.

Abi beamed when her face lit up at the mention of children, “That’s exactly what I’m asking,” she would grin, leaning in to quickly kiss the other woman’s cheek. She couldn’t believe that Morgan had agreed; she’d never figured that she wanted children. When she said that there was plenty of children that they could adopt, or that they could even find a surrogate father she would grin, “We have time to figure it out, I wouldn’t want to do anything like that until after we’re married,” she would explain, though she would lying if she said she wasn’t excited. She’d always wanted children, had always dreamed of creating life, though she wasn’t quite sure if Morgan was actually okay with it. She felt almost like adopting would be the easier of the two choices, though she wasn’t sure if that would be the best idea. When Morgan spoke again she would smile softly, “I love you more,” she murmurs, with a grin, smiling as the woman kisses her. After kissing her back she would move to stand, knowing that she must have been getting heavy, “What do you want to do with the rest of our day?” she would ask curiously, a happy smile spread out over her face.

She smiled at Abaigael when the other woman said that they had time to figure out the details. "Of course, dear," she joked. "I highly doubt that it is possible for you to love me more. I am, after all, the one that chased you and kept getting denied," she teased the woman lightly. She knew that sometimes Abi felt bad for having denied her for so long, but she was just happy that the other woman had finally caved in to her pursuits. When Abi disengaged from her and hopped up off of her lap a small frown tugged at the corners of her mouth, but then she realized that the woman was probably just anxious to do something. "How about that walk in the gardens that we were supposed to take?" she asked as she stood up from her throne and held her hand out to the other woman. If Abi took her hand she would press a soft kiss to it before tucking it against her chest. After holding it like that for a moment she would turn and prepare to exit the audience chamber with her love by her side. "Unless you have something else in mind, that is?"

When Morgan said that she highly doubted that she loved her more and went on to explain she could only laugh, “Well, I did it for your own good. You were just too incredible to resist,” she would say with a wink and a giggle. When she suggested going for a walk in the gardens she would grin and nod, gently grabbing her hand. When the woman gently kissed it before holding it to her chest she would smile softly, taking a step towards the woman in order to gently kiss her cheek; sometimes she still couldn’t believe how incredibly sweet and caring the other woman was. When they moved to exit the room and she asked if she had anything else in mind she would shake her head, “Nope, a walk in the gardens sounds really nice right now,” she would murmur with a smile, incapable of thinking of a better activity to do with Morgan.
As they walked to the gardens she would glance at her beloved, “So, what kind of ceremony would we have? Would it be traditional?” she asked with a tip of her head, wondering if it would work because of their different relationship. She knew that her first instinct was to not have the clergy involved at all with it, but she knew that Morgan was Queen and she sometimes had to do things that would benefit her people, or would make her more popular or whatever. Not that she always did when it came to Abi, I mean look at what she just did today. She risked everything to tell a group of the highest standing individuals that they were going to get married.

She smiled when Abi took her hand and agreed to a walk in the garden. When she asked how they would do their wedding ceremony she frowned thoughtfully. "Well, I think there would at least have to be a member of the clergy present to make it acceptable in the eyes of the kingdom, but we can change other things up if it suits us," she said with a giggle. What she really meant was that she was willing to have whatever kind of ceremony it was that Abaigael wanted. She couldn't refuse the woman anything, and that was why they were talking about a different kind of wedding and having children. Not that she didn't want either herself, because she thought that there should be something special about their wedding. Not to mention she absolutely adored children and the idea of having one with Abi, even if they had to use a surrogate, thrilled her to no end. When they reached the gardens she would release a sigh of happiness. At this point in time she wasn't sure that there was anything in the world that could ruin the good mood that she was in. She had gotten the woman she loved to agree to marry her and they would be planning to have children sometime after they got married. Life didn't get much better than it was now.

When Morgan spoke about them being able to change things up, but there having to be at least one member of the clergy there she would nod, “Makes sense,” she would murmur, falling silent as she thought about how different they would make it. She honestly wasn’t sure what she wanted, and would probably rely on Morgan to give her ideas and whatnot, but she wasn’t too worried about it right now. She figured that they had a while to plan it all out, anyways. When they reached the garden she would turn to glance at her love, leaning in to quickly kiss her, “Catch me if you can,” she would laugh before darting off, picking up her skirts and running down the path for a moment before cutting across the flowers and ducking behind a hedge of bushes. She wouldn’t stop though, merely moving along beside them, following them wherever they lead to. She knew that everything had been stressful lately, and figured that doing something simple like playing a game like this would help out; she knew that it was the little things that made a relationship work, and didn’t want those to be forgotten amidst all of the other things that they had been through lately.

She let out a laugh when Abi suddenly decided to play a game of chase. Before she took off after the woman she shook her head and pulled up the skirts of her own dress to try to keep from tripping over them as she chased after the woman. "You are a brat," she called after Abi as her feet pounded against the ground. When she saw the path that the other woman was taking she darted around the opposite direction so that she could not only catch up to her, but she could actually have a chance of catching her. It didn't take long for her to be in front of Abi, and once she got there she reached out to grab the other woman around the waist and pull her against her. She was laughing and it was definitely the little things like this that could make a relationship. She planted a firm kiss on Abi's lips before she released her. "You, my love, are definitely something else," she said with a giggle. She stepped closer to Abi and pressed a kiss to her nose before she turned to one of the many flowering bushes next to her and plucked one of the flowers off of it. She turned back to the other woman and tucked the stem of the flower behind her ear and flashed a smile.

When Morgan was suddenly in front of her she would laugh, grinning when she wrapped her arms around her and kissed her. She would laugh again when she said that Abi was something else, “You love me for it, though,” she would grin, her silver eyes twinkling with amusement. When she kissed her nose she would beam at the woman, watching as she stepped away to pluck a flower before moving back in and tucking it behind her ear, “Thank you,” she would murmur before moving to gently kiss the woman’s cheek, closing her eyes for a brief moment. Afterwards she would pull back a bit before gently grabbing the woman’s hand and beginning to walk, her gaze roaming around the garden as if she’d never visited it before, when in all reality there was hardly a day that she didn’t venture out into the gardens. Suddenly she would grin and veer to the right, dragging Morgan along with her, “Gentians!” she would exclaim, having caught sight of the beautiful blue flowers. She had to admit that they were her favorite, and when she brought Morgan back flowers they were often what she brought her, “Those are what we need at the wedding,” she would grin, letting go of Morgan’s hand to drop down beside a cluster of them.

She laughed and nodded. She had to agree with Abi's "you love me for it, though," comment. "Of course I do," she said with a grin. When Abi took her hand and led her around the garden she smiled and felt more relaxed than she had in a while. And then Abi got distracted because that's Abi for you. She giggled when the woman dragged her over to a cluster of gorgeous blue flowers and said that they needed them at the wedding. "They are beautiful," she said with a smile. Of course, she'd thought they were beautiful since the first time that Abaigael had brought her a handful of the flowers. She hummed thoughtfully and smiled. "I think they would be a wonderful flower to have at the wedding," she said as she knelt on the ground next to Abi and beside the flowers. She dropped her head and inhaled the sweet scent of the flower before leaning back to watch the other woman. Times like this it did seem as though life couldn't be any better. But, then, she was haunted by the memory that her husband's death had been her doing. She tried not to think about it, and even though she tried to justify it to herself every day, it was still something that she had to live with. She hadn't known what else to do at the time, and had gone over the scenario in her head a thousand times and always ended up at the same conclusion. It would always have ended with the death of one of the three of them; no matter what she had done.
