She would stop when he did and turn to look at him with a gentle nod of agreement. Indeed, it was getting late and she would want to get the flowers into some sort of water source here soon. Perhaps somewhere in her chambers where she could see them would do just fine. She thought quietly about the arrangement before looking up at him as he spoke of his people arriving. Another nerve wrecking thought. She didn't know how her servants and children would think of someone else coming to live with them but knew that they'd show them some really good, southern hospitality. Being the people they were and all.
She would turn around and follow him towards the house only to be taken by surprise with one of his gestures. She blushed at her cheeks when he kissed the back of her hand. She watched him bow and than turn around to walk towards the house. She would no sooner follow him though behind a bit of distance and kept her eyes on the ground beneath her, though she tried with little to no effort. After making it back to the house, she would enter and look for a vase to fill with water. Once the flowers were attended too, she would make her way up to her own chambers to wash up for the evening and get settled in for the night.

He'd finished bathing and then gone to bed, but had been up since pretty much the ass crack of dawn. Now he was out in front of the estate. The rest of his people and their things were due to arrive at any moment, and he wanted to be there to greet them. He rubbed a hand over his face wearily, but then the sound of hooves and voices met his ears and he allowed a smile to split his lips. Shortly there after his gaze landed on the in coming entourage and he couldn't help but grin. When the group came to a halt inside the gates of the estate he found himself being greeted by a lot of people. However, everyone let the temporary commander of the guards approach him first. The man swung down from his saddle and handed the reins of his horse off to one of the other men before approaching Nic.
"Sir," the man said. "Everything went as smoothly as could be expected. There were no deaths and everyone and everything has made it here as planned," he reported. "Good," Nic said with a smile. He turned and called to one of the soldiers that had arrived with him. "Get the other men out here to help the people unload and get everything settled," he ordered. He, himself, went to the wagon that his sister-in-law had ridden in on. "Bri," he greeted her with a smile as she climbed down from the wagon. The two of them embraced the way that a brother and sister might. "Nic. Good to see you," she said warmly and then turned her attention back towards the estate. "So. Where is she," the woman asked. Nic laughed. "I'm not sure," he said leaning in closer to whisper in Brianna's ear. "I haven't told her about the arrangement between her father and I. I decided to take your advice and try to woo her first," he said before he leaned back to cast her a wink. She gave him an approving nod before they both set to work helping the people unload.

Aislin had been up earlier just helping out the women on the estate harvest some vegetables out in the fields behind the house. She had just stood up and wiped off some of the sweat rolling down her face when a young boy came running through towards her sending hay seeds everywhere like the wind would do with a breeze. She didn't look so pretty after the morning's work with the people, but she didn't really care if she was covered in dirt and prickles from the plants or if grass stems stuck out of her hair. She just didn't.
This was how she looked half the time if she wasn't playing with the children or doing absolutely nothing, she was still getting dirty one way or another. When the boy spoke of the new master being awake and of carriages arriving at the gates, she knew that his sister-in-law must've arrive along with the rest of the stuff. She told the boy to make arrangements and move certain animals into the spare pins. With that in place she'd turn to face the other women in the field and they simply just shooed her off like she was a fly.
She sighed, shaking her before picking up her basket and walking towards the house. She got there and handed it off to another servant before walking up to the barrel of water on the back porch to wash up the best she could for the new arrivals. She took a deep breath and released it slowly before making her way through the house and out the front door where she saw the carriages and things. She felt like she was placed on the spot just then and took a few minutes to dust herself off and walk out towards them.
Along the way, she kept trying to close her eyes and relax. Meeting new faces was never her thing and very hard thing for her to do. Mind you, her hair was still covered in grass stems. Not that she knew that, since she thought that she had gotten it all out. Once she was ready, she breathed out and placed her hands in front of her stomach, folded politely; as she greeted any newcomer. Her eyes seeking Nic before speaking quietly. "Good morning Sire." She greeted, though she wasn't too sure how she should greet him since he was now her Court and all which felt pretty weird.. No matter. She dusted it off so to speak and waited for a response from him.

He worked alongside Brianna for a while before their progress was interrupted by Aislin's voice. He turned back to look at her and couldn't help but smile at the grass poking out of her hair. He shook his head and moved over to pluck the pieces of grass from her hair before turning to his sister-in-law. "Brianna, this is Lady Aislin," he said. "Aislin, this is my sister-in-law, Brianna," he introduced and bent down to press a kiss to Aislin's cheek before returning to work.
Brianna looked at Aislin as if she were sizing the other woman up. Finally a satisfied smile crossed the woman's face and she held out a hand towards the other girl. "Pleased to meet you, Lady Aislin," she said in greeting. She cast a glance to Nic to see that he'd returned to work and just shook her head. "Forgive my brother-in-law," she said with a chuckle. "His priorities are work, work, and more work it seems like," she said with a shake of her head. She dropped her hand whether or not Aislin shook it and then took a hold of the woman's elbow to steer her away from the others. "Nic is a good man. Please take care of him. He needs it," she said after they were a short distance away from the others.

Aislin would smile a bit as he turned to face her. Her eyes pulled forward when he shook his head and then found himself inches next to her. He was... Oh. She blushed at the sudden realization of the stems still stuck in her hair. Of course he would pluck them out for her. She was embarrassed! Her eyes caught onto Brianna's own as they were introduced briefly by the man. But just before she could extend her hand to greet Brianna, she was 'assaulted' by a kiss to the cheek. She couldn't help but to smile as she felt her cheek grow with warmth to them. She was such a child to these sort of things and it surely was easily read. No matter, she cleared her throat moved on to greet the women. "Pleasure, Lady Brianna." She said with a smile as she extended her hand for the female. She would watch Nic work for a little bit before being tugged onto by the elbow from the other women. She followed without much of a thought and would turn to face her as she spoke. Smiling in the process. "I will surely try Lady Brianna." She told her honestly though she really had no idea what to do nor how to care for a man... Even if the man was twice her age. Though she was questionable about the man and wondered if she had any hints or clues about him that she should know about. "Is there anything you can tell me that could help perhaps?" She questioned, hopeful.

Nic continued to work with unloading as he watched the ladies chit chat from the corner of his eye. A grin curved his lips as he worked, but he did his best to focus on the task at hand rather than strain to listen to the conversation that the two women were having.
Bri smiled at Lady Aislin's greeting and assurance that she would try to take care of the man. "Nic is a simple man, really," she informed the girl. "He has much more interest in the little things in life than anything else. I suppose it's part of him growing up as the son of a farmer," she admitted with a laugh. "I think the easiest way to keep him happy is to show that you're interested in him and in his life. There isn't much worse than a woman who claims to be in love, but has no interest in the person that she's supposed to be in love with," she said as she reached out a hand to pat one of Aislin's in very motherly fashion. She'd never had children of her own, but she definitely acted the mother hen type with other people. That was just who she was, and probably part of the reason Nic had agreed to her being there when her sister had reached the last few months of her pregnancy.

Aislin would nod and smile towards Bri as she spoke, giving her some advice. She had guessed as much when she told her that Nic was a simple man. She turned to face the man as he worked with the others before turning back to face the woman as she placed her hand on her shoulder. Aislin never knew her mother so, to know the feeling of a mother would be something else entirely different than knowing the feeling of a man loving you. Either way both was strange to her but she welcomed it. She was happy to have the company.
"I see.." She told her before moving to place a finger or two on her lips, the memory still rather fresh in her mind. She couldn't help but to blush and slowly moved her hand away from her lips. "I think I'm going to help them unpack. You are more then welcomed to lurk about the estate. The servants are always happy to lend a hand." She assured her, knowing her people rather well. They adored company, especially the children if and when the company would play with them. She would give Bri a curtsey bow before making her way back to the carriage to help Nic and the others. Her bright eyes would travel over towards his every now again only to look away just as quickly so that he didn't catch her starring like a child.

It had been close to a month since he and his people had arrived at Avlora and he had claimed his rightful title as the Duke. Everything had gone surprisingly smooth in that time. Oh, there were people and animals who didn't get along, but it was still surprisingly calm for such a large estate. It made him feel pretty proud of himself that he could handle all of this so smoothly. Then again, if ever there was a diplomat to their people, it was likely Nioclás McKinnley. He just seemed to have a way with soothing harsh tempers and smoothing things over when someone got their feelings hurt. Unlike most nobles, he was very involved in everything on his estate. His favorite part of it was helping with the farming aspects, but he managed to do pretty well in all of the other parts as well. He attributed this to the fact that he didn't mind working his ass off. And such was probably the reason. At the moment he was busy in the stables feeding the horses, having already taken care of those animals who were out to pasture. It was part of his morning routine now; feeding the animals before he even ate himself. Personally he thought it a good way to start the day off.

Hati and Skoll; twins though fraternal looked just shy of exactly alike. Hati had a smoother complexion and blonde hair, Skoll had red firey hair and a jaw that would make an Irish Man jealous. Hati and Skoll had been scouring the lands but they encounter a few rogues in England before getting on a boat to Ireland. Hati had tagged Skoll by accident with her sword during the defense as Skoll moved about to quickly. It didn't happen often at all, the twins usually knew each others movements before they ever made them. But they were both humans in the end. She had gotten horses near the Southern Shore and moved to find a homestead or something of the sort to get Skoll there. The boat didn't do any good, it had made her sick since the wound kept opening on them. When Avlora came into sight for Hati she almost cried. Skoll had been lulled over her horse or sleeping sitting up or something so Hati continued her pace instead of rushing them. But once they got to the stables Hati got down and ran in. "Hello?" She would say in English her Nord accent was thick like molasses around her tongue. She saw a man feeding the horses, she moved and positioned her shield behind her but her sword at her waist told stories. "Hello! Man! I need help, My sister; she is wounded. I would like to know where the Duke is? I need to get her into a bed and my hands on some.." She looked for the word and swore. "Faen!"(Shit!) She scrunch up her face. "I need.. Uh. Stitch. I think no different word for that one in English. Quickly."

Aislin had taken a liking to Nic rather quickly. He and Bri and his knights all seemed to be pretty decent people, she had no reason to be afraid of them anymore since Nic and his people had earned their stay. And he well, she couldn't tell if he had earned her full heart just yet. But definitely a portion of it. She still blushed when he would speak to her and walk by her and hiding it wasn't all that easy. She felt so silly for it too. No matter the only people who would notice her blushing could be... Well, everyone on the Estate. As she thought, she made her way down the stairs and out the backdoor to where she would go right for the horses only to find him there. She wore a white dress with a green over cloak attached to it which tied in the front of it loosely. She stopped at a post and held her arm up and rested it against the wooden post to watch him from her spot for a long moment. Without another minute, she walked off away from her post and right towards the stables, leaning against a gate to one of the horses. "You always seem to be out here before me Nic." She said knowingly. A smile playing her lips as he stood there. "Are you too busy today?" She questioned him curiously. Hoping that he hadn't have any major plans for the day. "I.. have a surprise for you but we will need the horses." She told him in her usual quiet voice that she used whenever she was around him.

Skoll had to admit that her sister was an excellent swordsman; she’d stuck her with the sword in a rather admirable fashion. It was interesting how she wasn’t upset about it, though she just couldn’t find any anger in herself. Honestly, when she was conscious enough to think about it she found it rather amusing. This wasn’t all that often, unfortunately; she’d been lolling in and out of a dream-like state, and had lost a lot of blood, so when she wasn’t unconscious she was rather loopy and lacking in motor skills. Which happened again when Hati stopped the horses in front of some sort of barn. She managed to tear her eyes open and stare after her sister, though she was awkwardly slumped on the horse, and her vision wasn’t all that great; everything seemed all fuzzy and things were blending together. “Hati?” she would call out, her voice slurred as she moved to dismount, though she pretty much ended up sliding down the side of her mount and crumpling in the dirt. She would heave out a deep breath, closing her eyes tightly as pain and nausea rolled through her body. This definitely wasn’t good. Hati was going into an unfamiliar barn without her, and she couldn’t even get off of her horse. She would shake her head sharply before grasping at her horse and dragging herself slowly up onto her feet before shuffling them towards the barn, using her horse as support for as long as she could, “Hati!” she would yell, her voice still rather slurred as she stumbled into the barn, “Damn it, yew!” she would yell again, staggering over to grab ahold of the side of a stall, “What are ye thinkin’?!”

He'd looked up at the sound of Aislin's voice and flashed her one of his little grins. "That would be because I was a farmer long before I became a knight or a Duke, Lady," he said with a soft chuckle. "And we farmers have a habit of getting up before the sun does," he commented. When she asked if he had anything planned for the day he would shake his head. "Other than what chores I always do, I have nothing planned for the day," he said. When she said something about a surprise, but needing horses he didn't quite hear her, because at that moment a blonde woman had stormed into the barn with a look of panic about her. "Calm yourself, lass," he said in soothing tones. "I am the Duke," he said with a frown when she said she'd like to know where the Duke was. She mentioned something about her sister being wounded and a frown creased his brow. "Yes. Stitches," he said in as calm a tone as he could manage. Just then a stable boy plundered down the ladder from the hay loft. "You. Go fetch Brianna. Tell her to get a suture kit and her herbs and meet me in the guest chambers," he ordered the boy. The boy had just scuttled off when a redheaded woman who was obviously the injured sister stumbled into the barn. Without even taking the time to think about it he exited the stall that he'd been in, making sure to close it securely behind him before he strode over to the injured woman. He scooped her up into his arms with little effort. "Shh. Your sister was just trying to get you help, lass. And a good thing too if the looks of you has anything to say of it," he said with a shake of his head. "Follow me," he called over his shoulder to the blonde haired woman. He didn't even take the time to think that scooping this woman up and carrying her off might get him into some kind of trouble. He merely reacted to the situation as he carried her from the barn, Aislin temporarily forgotten in his need to get the injured woman taken care of. Nic was just that sort of person. He carried her in through the back door of the estate, because it was closer to both the stables and the guest chamber that he would be carrying her to. He kicked the door open with his boot and barely paused in his stride. The chamber door received the same treatment that the back door had, though it hadn't been latched, so it swung open without breaking anything. Carefully he set the redhead down on top of the guest bed and glanced around until he saw Brianna enter the room. "Good. You're here. Apparently this little redhead got injured in some way or another. She seems to have lost a lot of blood, and is still bleeding. I need your help cleaning her up and stitching the wound closed," he said to his sister in law. Most of the time he wouldn't be so short with her, but times like this called for directness.

As Nioclas began to consult her, Hati just tried to hurry him a little. With her eyes mainly. But when he said he was the Duke she frowned. In apology, as best she could. The look was given to her due to her long use of it as a warrior. "Our horses are the type to stay." She would tell the stable boy. "Think of them last." She would actually muster out easily but still as Nora-molasses based as her last statements. When she heard Skoll call her name she winced. "Skoll. You should have stayed on the horse.." She'd pause "Jeg ville hatt dem om de var en trussel."(I would have had them if they were a threat.) She would say semi-cockily. When Nic would say to follow her she smirked. But she kept to the back of him. Her eyes on her sister. When the man addressed another woman she'd actually give a small chuckle as he said little redhead. They were give or take only a bit shorter than the man. But she couldn't say she didn't admire his strength. She put her lips together for a moment. She could have done it but she didn't want to disturb the hospitality the Irish seemed to have to strangers. "I take off her armor." Only she really knew how it was buckled in. She looked at Skoll and smiled a little. "I'm not leave." She would say and then begin unbuckling the furs and layers though Skoll and Hati didn't wear an extreme amount in the summer. She pushed the shirt that Skoll had on until her breast line for some decency and looked at her wound. Wincing. "It was made by my sword." She would admit to Nic. "So it pretty clean cut." She got out of the way of Brianna when it came to it and sat on a chair or the other bed if there was one. Setting her shield that bore a giant Nord rune on it against the wall. She was watching Brianna like a hawk. If Aislin had followed them she would for a moment look at her and then return her eyes quickly to her twin.

Aislin would turn her attention onto the women who had rushed into the Estate and she couldn't help but wonder if the guards were even at their post. Her eyes returned to the area of the stables where she watch Nic take off for the injured woman. Her eyes went right for the injury and then to female who had them. Giving her an assuring smile and nod. She didn't understand the words they said do to the thick accent. She turned around and rushed to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Go have the woman start a meal. Tell them to make it light." She insisted before picking up the ends of her dress and rushing inside to aide them. She knew that this had to be taken care of and she had to see if she couldn't get out of them, their reasons for being here. She to the room they were all in and rushed to his side. "What can I do?" She asked him curiously. She obviously didn't seem afraid or look ill to the sight. When she was the Estates Duchess, she took care of saw worse wounds then this. She was just worried about the female and how she got her injuries.
