((Technically an entire province that is outside the main boundaries of all the Irish kingdoms.))
Andy paced the floor of her estate's audience chamber as she eyed the other two women who were there with her. This meeting had been kept secret from even her siblings that lived with her. She knew that her brother and sister probably would not approve of what it was she'd invited these women here for. Which was why she had kept this meeting a secret from them. Finally she settled down enough to stand in one place and her attention flicked back to the two women. "I invited the two of you here because you are, aside from the royals, the most powerful and richest women in your kingdoms. Lady Alana, I know that you are just the heir to the grand duchy of the Southern Kingdom, but I felt more comfortable bringing you here than your parents," she started to explain. "It seems, ladies, that we have a really big problem. England and Scotland are rumored to be gathering men to bring them against Ireland for war. I know the four kingdoms usually operate separately, but in this I think we would be best united," she continued. "The problem becomes, however, that King Risteard is said to have decided to aid England and Scotland if they bring war to our shores," she said with a curse as she began pacing again. "We cannot afford for the entire western kingdom to be on the side of our enemies, ladies. We must do something about this man," she paused in her pacing to face them again. "This is why I brought you here. I am proposing that we each pitch in a sum of money that we're comfortable agreeing on, and place a bounty on the head of the western King. He must be stopped, and that man has been nothing but trouble for the whole of Ireland since he took the throne, anyway."

Alana had been surprised when she received the invitation from Andraste Rowan to come to Geole. Well, invitation was a relative term. Actually, the woman had sent a messenger to the southern kingdom's summer palace to request that she make her way to the eastern kingdom's province promptly. The messenger had made it seem like it was an emergency, though she couldn't quite wrap her head around why the vicereine wanted her there. Sure, she was the heir to the grand duchy of the southern kingdom, but that's all she was. The way the messenger had talked; this had definitely seemed more along the lines of something one of her parents should have been seeing to. However, she had come promptly as she'd been told, and was now sitting down in the woman's audience chamber while she paced the floor. Her hands rested lightly in her lap as she waited to see what the woman had to say. Whatever it was, the woman appeared genuinely concerned and quite out of sorts over it. So Alana could only imagine that it was a very pressing matter. Especially to make such a powerful woman pace in such a way.
And then Andraste began speaking, addressing her first. She nodded to the woman's words, but had no time to respond before she continued. Slowly Alana arched a brow as the woman continued to speak, explaining things with a passion the likes of which Alana hadn't heard in a very long time. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips when Andraste finished speaking and she glanced over to the grand duchess of the northern kingdom before she spoke. Something that Alana rarely did first. "First I would like to say that I'm flattered you find me the better person in my family to broach this subject with," she said with a soft laugh. "Though I have to admit that my parents might not be very pleased by that prospect," she said, but shook her head. "But they'll get over it. This is what they're training me for, after all." Her gaze flicked between the other two women in the room before she straightened her shoulders and continued on. "I think, Andraste, that you bring up many valid points. And I, for one, am willing to lend money to the cause. Shocking though this might be, I know that decisions like this are ones that I may have to make as a grand duchess. So let it be known between the three of us that I fully support this idea," she said in a firm tone that she'd been learning lately. It was one that she had, ironically, picked up more so from Queen Morgan than Queen Abaigael, but at least she was learning, right?

Treise honestly hadn’t been very surprised at all when she had gotten word that she was needed at Geole. She had heard about what was going on with England and Scotland, and that the Western King had supposedly decided to side with them, and while she didn’t quite know what they would be talking about, she figured that it had something to do with that. So, she remained quiet as she sat in Andraste’s Audience Chamber, her hands folded in her lap and a knowing smile tugging up the corners of her lips. That smile grew a bit bigger with every word that the woman spoke and by the time that she said that she thought that they should pool together a reward for the Western King’s head she was absolutely grinning. She was about to start speaking, though she heard the heir to the Grand Duchy of the South begin to speak and would direct her attention towards the woman, curious to see if she would agree or not. She had heard that the girl was a much better individual than either of her parents, but the outcome of this meeting would prove whether that was true or not.
When the woman spoke firmly about supporting the idea she would absolutely beam at her, shifting out of her seat to stand, “Well, we all know that I’m in,” she would say with a laugh, reaching up to drag her fingers through her hair. She didn’t doubt for a moment that Andy knew that she would agree with the plan. “So, I suppose the only questions left are the amount of money we’re each going to contribute, and who we’re going to let the bounty slip to first,” she would say, looking between the women. She wasn’t sure if she knew anybody that she could leak the knowledge to that would have it spread enough to get the King killed, but not enough that any of the other royals would find out. She also had no idea what the appropriate sum of money would be to contribute to the cause, not for a King anyways.

Andy paused in her pacing when both other women spoke. Part of her was a bit surprised at Alana's firmness, but she nodded to the woman. There was no surprise for her where Treise was concerned, however, and a small smile tugged at her lips. "I think, in this, that fifty thousand a piece would be a good price. I know it might sound like a lot, but I want this to be something that is certain to be accomplished. And for the head of a king, I believe it to be worth it," she said firmly. It was a high price, but she knew it was one that wouldn't break any of them. For that matter, it would barely put a dent in their pockets, so to speak. When Treise said something about who to leak it to a smirk claimed her lips. "Well, I hear tell that the new Duchess of Carnaghan has a cousin who used to be a bounty hunter," she said, directing her statement at the northerner. "I also hear that her older brother has been giving you googly eyes," she said with a chuckle. "So maybe you could spread the word through one of those two?"

She listened to what Treise had to say and smiled faintly at the other woman's conviction. She too stood up and waited for Andy's response to the questions that the northerner had asked. When Andy gave a price she nodded in agreement. "I think it's a good price for the head of a king," she said simply. "And it's fortunate that my parents allow me to handle a good deal of the finances in preparation for becoming the grand duchess," she commented with a soft laugh. When Andy commented about the Duchess having a cousin who had once been a bounty hunter she would cant her head as a smile spread across her lips. She didn't know as much about nobles from the other kingdoms as she probably should, but it was a good idea to spread the news through that family if such was the case. She had to bite back a laugh when Andy said that the oldest brother had been giving Treise googly eyes. "If you don't feel comfortable using her brother or her to spread the news, I may know of someone who can get the news to this man," she said, trying to be as helpful as possible in this.

Upon hearing the price that Andy asked for she would nod slightly in agreement, knowing that she had the funds for it, "You're right. It is worth it," she would say with a shrug. How could any amount of coin not be worth salvaging Ireland? However, she didn't quite have the same view on the people that they should leak the information to. Her jaw would clench when Andy mentioned Alasdair, her brows furrowing slightly though she otherwise wouldn't react. She wasn't about to let on that she had a weakness, not even to the women she was plotting murder with. Upon hearing Alana speak about possibly knowing somebody she would shake her head, "No. Ranait and Alasdair do have a cousin. I'll see if I can get word to him somehow," she would say, pursing her lips as she thought about it for a minute, "And if I can't get word directly to their cousin I suppose that I'll have to leak information to one of them," she would say, though she felt rather dirty for agreeing to use her court in this manner.

She nodded to what they both had to say, though she could tell the northern woman was hesitant to use either of the other nobles. Something told her that the marquess's eyes weren't the only ones being used. "I only suggested word of mouth because I don't know if the man would go back into his bounty hunting ways for just anyone," she said with a shrug. "But any way to get word to the man might be worth it. It would be best to keep this as quiet as possible. I don't want a bunch of bounty hunters killing each other off to get a chance at the king's head," she said with a frown. "Especially not if war is coming to Ireland. We'll need as many to defend her as possible." She was thinking of Ireland as a whole instead of four kingdoms at the moment. It was home to all of their kingdoms, and to fight among themselves with the threat of outside enemies would make it more likely that the others would win over them. "Any way this happens, I want to thank both of you for helping in this," she said in a serious tone.

She nodded to Treise's words and gave the woman a faint smile. She could understand where the other woman was coming from in a sense. Her gaze flicked to Andy when the other woman began speaking and she bobbed her head in a nod. "Well," she said with a smile. "Ireland may be divided into four kingdoms, but to fight among ourselves when there's an outside enemy trying to bring war to our country wouldn't do us any good," she said, echoing the other woman's thoughts. Her attention flicked to the northern Irish woman and she flashed her a soft smile. "Okay," she said in response to what the woman had said about getting word to the cousin some way. "I was just trying to be helpful," she said, trying to be reassuring. She hadn't meant anything bad by her offer. All she had meant was that she had no idea what her relationship to the two nobles might be, and if she was good friends with them it might make it easier if someone else got the word to the westerner. She lifted her shoulders in a shrug and smiled when Andy thanked them. "No thanks necessary. I know I'm happy to be able to rid Ireland of one more person who's detrimental to her," she said with a shrug. She couldn't speak for Treise, but she was pretty sure the woman felt the same.

She would shrug when Andy spoke about why she had suggested word of mouth, and that they should keep this as quiet as possible, “I know, and I’ll make sure to get word to him. I’ll warn him that if he doesn’t keep it quiet then we’ll put a bounty on his head as well,” she would say with another shrug and a laugh, trying to lighten the mood a bit. When Alana mentioned that she’d just been trying to be helpful she would smile at the woman, “I know, but there’s no need for you to worry about it. I’ve got it handled,” she would assure her, though she hoped that she didn’t come across as if she felt that her help wasn’t needed. She would shake her head when Andy thanked them, “It’ll all be worth it if we get that man taken care of, that’s all the thanks that we’ll all need,” she would say with a shrug, knowing that they would both feel the same way. “Let’s just hope that the price is tempting enough for this bounty hunter,” she would say, though she didn’t doubt that it would be. That amount of money would be hard to pass up. “Alright, so, are we done here?” she would ask, glancing between the women. It wasn’t that she didn’t enjoy their company, but she wanted to get this rolling and she also had things that she would need to deal with at her own duchy.

She nodded to the words from both women and agreed when Treise said what she did about it being a high enough price to tempt the bounty hunter. "I should hope so," she said with a sigh, though when the northerner asked if they were done here she would give a brief nod. "Aye," she said with a faint smile. "I think we'd best all get back to our lives and homes before someone starts to suspect something with three women like us all being in the same place at once," she said jokingly before she shook her head and ushered the other two women from the audience chamber. She knew they all had things they would have to do to get the ball rolling on this. Not to mention things that they would have to do to work on preparing for the war that was said to be coming to Ireland's shores. Gathering the armies wasn't the problem. The problem would be moving them and all the political bullshit that went along with it. There were, after all, nobles who would not approve of moving armies through Ireland, others who would not approve of helping the other kingdoms. And some who would try to flat out refuse to send their men to war. It was going to be a pain in the ass.

She nodded to the grand duchess's words and turned her attention between her and the vicereine when they talked back and forth. Honestly part of her felt like it had been pointless for her to be here, but she tucked that thought away into the back of her head and smiled at the other two women like a good little diplomat. She agreed with the things they both had to say and found herself being ushered out of the audience chamber shortly after Treise asked if they were done here. "It was a pleasure to see you both," she said courteously, acting as though it had been a social call for the benefit of any who might be lingering around to try to catch them talking about something when they left the chamber. "Something we should do more often," she said sweetly before she turned and strode down the hall to exit the estate as a whole. Her horse and the couple of men that she'd ridden here with were waiting by the time she reached the front of the estate. She climbed into her saddle and nodded to the men before nudging her horse forward and giving a soft cluck to the mare.

Post by Cinaed Frighil on Aug 8, 2014 16:00:59 GMT
Cinaed had been requested to go to Geole to just give story about Cori and her first outing alone. He had noted Lorcan and Connall and his parents had been pleased. Especially his mother when he expressed that there seemed to be a spark between his sister and the Captain. As he had witnessed the dancing and her disqualification in melee. His father was displeased with the idea of his once squire's kill in melee but Eilis had said something about viking's luck within the marriage and trailed off in her own thoughts. Cinaed was walking to the stables when he came out with his horse, Trouble's sister Elegance, he noted the shy little Southern woman he briefly spoke to at the Masquerade and danced with. They never introduced themselves so he would give her one of his genuine and heart throb worthy grins. "Greetings!" He would chime in and gave a bow incase she was higher in the tier than himself. Which would not surprise him with the amount of men she had around her. He was also just barely noble really. "Are you going towards the Eastern Kingdom, M'lady? Or straight too the Southern?" Maybe he could win over a companion and her entourage to travel with.

She had just mounted her horse and started to move forward at a walk when her attention was caught by the sound of a voice nearby. She carefully pulled the mare to a stop and looked around for the source of the voice. Her eyes lit up when she spotted the eastern lord of some sort that she'd briefly spoke to and danced with at the masquerade. "Well, hello there," she called back to him and nodded when he bowed to her; which was the best she could do given that she was in the saddle at the moment. A smile played across her lips when he asked if she was going towards the Eastern kingdom or straight to the Southern. "Well," she said with a mock frown. "I'm sure I could make my way towards the Eastern Kingdom," she teased carefully. She wasn't really sure where that came from; except that she was feeling rather confident in herself today. Probably something to do with the whole meeting that she'd just left, but hey. She flicked her attention to the men that had ridden with her and nodded to herself before she turned back to the young lord. "Besides; we can't have a nobleman riding on his own if the rumors of England and Scotland are to be trusted," she said firmly as she waited to see if he would join them.

Cinaed would continue to hold his smile when she noticed him. As she teased him, he'd let his smile become sly. The young southerner had amused him with her surprising spark of confidence in her way of speaking. As she continued he moved and climbed into his horse's saddle. Patting Elegance who was a 'grey' horse AKA a white horse without the white mutation or genetic traits. She had a blackened snout. But she carried herself like an excellent Mare. When she called him a nobleman he'd give her an audible chuckle. "Barely by any means, little Lady. I never get granted an entourage. I am but a writer." He'd pause. "Ah. I think we've never actually told each other our names. I'm Cinaed Frighil, known mostly to be Lady Knight Cori's younger brother." He admitted. Though the only thing that seemed to tie Cinaed to Cori were their eyes. Though Cinaed's were almost more striking and true blue. He let his mare canter up towards her and her men.
"You do not have to worry much about me, you should get home to the Southern Kingdom. I had just been wondering if you had time to have conversation along the way." He'd grin a little. "Perhaps I will help you with travel boredom?" He would tease in reply.

She shrugged at his comment about barely being a nobleman. It didn't make much difference to her what his birth was. When he officially introduced himself she offered a smile. "Pleased to actually meet you, then, Lord Frighil," she said sweetly. "I am Alana Ahearn, known mostly as the heir to the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of the Southern kingdom," she gave her own introduction. It always felt a bit odd to her to mention such a title. Especially when people decided to treat her differently just because she happened to be born to parents with such a high station. When he made the comment about not worrying about him she shook her head. "I'm not so much worried about you as I was hoping that I would get more than a grunt in response as far as conversation goes," she said with a giggle as she glanced towards the men that she'd brought with her. "And since you already seem more talkative than the most talkative of these men, I'd be happy to have you along for at least part of the ride," she assured him. Now that he'd caught up to them she urged her horse gently forward, giving the cue to the rest of the entourage to do the same.
