“Oh, thank God,” he would say in response to her saying that she didn’t like sewing, laughter spilling from his lips. He could only grin when she said that he wasn’t helpful with coming up with ideas, knowing that she was right and not having anything to say in response. When she began to list off ideas he would laugh softly, “See? You didn’t need my help,” he would joke, moving to gently kiss her cheek. “I think a picnic would be nice,” he would say with a smile, “Not that I wouldn’t love to go for a ride or walk, but I’m starving,” he would admit with a laugh. “If you want you can go to your chambers and get the cards and I can stop by the kitchens?” he would ask with a tip of his head, “Though, I think after the picnic we should move your things to our chambers,” he would grin, winking playfully at her. He didn’t like the idea of them having separate rooms; it just didn’t seem very conducive to a good relationship, and if truth be told he would much rather have her as close to him as he could get her.

She laughed at his "oh thank god" comment before shaking her head. When he said that she didn't need his help coming up with ideas she would stick her tongue out at him. "Note to self; Alpin is absolutely no help when it comes to ideas for things to do together," she said, obviously teasing him. She laughed again when he said that he was absolutely starving. She should have figured as much; given that his return from Carnaghan hadn't been that long ago, and long rides like that tended to make people hungry. "Okay," she said, beaming when he suggested that he would go to the kitchens to get the food while she stopped at her chambers. When he said they should move her things to their chambers she laughed. "Yes, my lord," she said, jokingly dipping a curtsy to him. When they arrived near her chambers she stood on her tip toes to press a kiss to his cheek. "I will meet you at the front steps of the palace," she said before releasing her hold on his hand and disappearing into her chambers.
While she was in her chambers she decided to do a little bit of digging through her things. Her husband was so hellbent on her wearing something other than a dress that she decided she might as well make him happy. She found a shirt and kilt that were actually her size and similar enough to what he kept telling her that she looked really good in that he should think the same of these clothes. Of course, since these clothes were actually tailored to fit her, the shirt hugged the slight curves that she had that were otherwise hidden by the shirt that he'd had her wearing of his. She took a moment or two trying to find a pair of shoes that didn't look weird with a kilt, but couldn't find any. Thus, she decided to go barefoot. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips and she grabbed the cards from one of her tables before she left her chambers. She tried to keep herself from running to the front of the palace to meet up with her husband, not wanting to arrive too long before he did.

Alpin had stopped by the kitchen and gathered food and such, and despite the fact that he felt a little awkward carrying a basket he merely lifted his chin and smiled as he moved to meet up with his wife. He wondered idly if they would even get around to using the cards that she had gone to get, or if they would go for a walk or something else, though he wouldn’t think about it for long, his mind easily distracted. When he exited the palace he would cast his gaze around the area, at first passing over Renny because she looked so different in something that wasn’t a dress, though when he looked around again he would grin upon realizing that the woman in the kilt was his wife. He would move quickly over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in sharply to press a kiss to her lips, “You look great,” he would say, grinning at her. “I love the kilt,” he would say, his gaze shifting slowly over her body before glancing back up at her face, “Much better than a dress…though not quite as good as my shirt,” he would tease, laughing softly.

Despite taking her time in getting there, she'd managed to beat Alpin to the palace steps. So she'd taken the time to just take in the sight from her position on the steps and smiled as she looked out over the grounds of the palace. She'd wrapped her arms around herself while she waited and found herself wondering what life had in store for her. If someone had asked her just a few weeks ago if she ever thought she would be married and in love she probably would have laughed at them. And yet; here she was. Standing on the front steps of the palace waiting for the man that she'd not only married, but also fallen in love with. A contented sigh drifted from her lips and they curved in a small smile.
She looked up at the sound of someone exiting through the palace doors and her smile widened when she saw it was Alpin. For a moment she felt foolish for having changed out of a dress, especially when it seemed he didn't notice her. However, when he walked over and pulled her against him to kiss her she would giggle and move her arms up to curl them around his neck and return the kiss happily. "Thank you," she said to his compliment. And then she laughed at what he said afterwards. "Well; maybe when we go to bed," she said with a laugh. "For now, however, unless you want me to risk flashing everything I have to anyone whose path we might cross tonight," she said, letting that thought trail off with another laugh. She pressed another kiss to his lips and then moved to take the basket of food from him. "So there's this spot that I usually like to go to, but it's a bit of a walk. If you're not up for that we can find somewhere else, but I think you'll really appreciate this spot."

He would laugh when she said maybe if they were in bed, shaking his head slightly, “Well, maybe we should go back to bed,” he would tease her, winking playfully. He would grin when she kissed him again, gently kissing her back before she steps away and takes the basket from him, feeling a little relieved that it was no longer in his hands. He would hook an arm around her shoulder and move to walk beside her, listening as she spoke about a spot that she wanted to go to. “Whatever makes you happy,” he would say with a grin, “I’m not all that tired, and if this spot is as nice as you say it is, then it’ll be well worth the walk,” he would assure her, letting his gaze dance around the immediate area for a moment. He didn’t see anywhere all that special close by anyways, and if they had to walk for a bit then it would most likely mean that they would be alone, which he would definitely prefer. “Lead the way, love,” he would say, his lips splitting in a grin as he waits to see which direction her feet would move in before walking along beside her.

She giggled at his teasing, but otherwise ignored it. When he agreed to go to the spot that she had in mind she all but jumped for joy. "Good, because I promise you it's worth it," she said with a giggle as she lead him off in the direction of the spot she had in mind. They crossed the palace grounds and entered the forest. Which they walked through for a bit of a distance before coming upon a little clearing. "It looks best in the light of a full moon, but," she said with a shrug as she lead him to the bank of a narrow creek. She set the basket on a large rock and smoothed her kilt against her bottom as she settled next to it. "Moira told me about this place," she said with a small smile. "I've never come across her while here, nor anyone else for that matter. So I come here whenever I can manage to get away from the palace," she admitted. "It's just so much more peaceful than even the gardens," she said on a soft sigh. Her gaze drifted over the clearing and then out across the creek, and it was obvious that she was completely comfortable here.

He kind of ignored her when she said that it looked better in full moonlight, instead letting his gaze roam around the area. She was right when she said that it was more peaceful than the Gardens, though he couldn’t understand why Moira would tell another person about it; he figured that she would want to preserve its beauty for her own use. His gaze would flick back over to Ranait as she settled down next to a rock, a grin dancing over his face as he watches her looking around the place. Upon hearing her sigh he couldn’t help but chuckle softly before moving to sit close to her, “I’m glad that we came here. I’m glad that you knew of the place,” he would say with a smile, letting his gaze drift over to the water and then around the area once again. After a moment he would shift to kiss her cheek before getting up and moving out of the clearing, walking a bit before he found a cluster of wildflowers. He would pick several before walking back into the clearing with them behind his back. Once he was there he would move close to her again, grinning as he slowly brings one around to tuck it behind her ear before settling down in front of her, capturing her wrist in his hand and moving to weave the stems of the others into a sort of bracelet; he’d done things like this for his daughter before and thus wasn’t too bad at weaving the stems together.

She glanced over towards him in his silence and smiled as she watched him look around the area before moving closer to press a kiss to her lips. She returned the kiss and smiled at his words. "I'm glad you like it," she admitted with a smile. It was nice to know that she had picked a good spot for the picnic. When he moved off she frowned slightly, only to change her expression to an adorable little smile when he returned and tucked a flower behind one of her ears. And then she giggled when he began weaving a bracelet of more flowers around her wrist. When he was finished she leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. "Thank you," she said with a smile before she finally turned her attention to the basket that held the food in it. "Okay, love. I'm starving," she said with a laugh and her stomach gave a low rumble to confirm that notion. She dug through the basket indecisively until she found some bread, which she pulled out of the basket. She tore it in half, offering him part of it before pulling off little pieces of the half that she kept for herself and eating.

He couldn’t help but grin when she leaned in to kiss him before saying thank you, “You’re very welcome,” he would say with a smile, tempted to reach for her to kiss her again only to laugh softly as she said that she was starving. Her declaration was accompanied by a growl of his stomach and he would nod, “Aye, I am too,” he would laugh, accepting the bread gratefully. Though, instead of eating it plain he would dig through the basket to find some cheese, ripping his bread into two pieces and stuffing it in between before taking a bite. After chewing and swallowing he would glance at her, watching with an amused smile as she tore off pieces of her own before eating them. Eventually he would reach forward to snatch the pieces from between her fingers before she could bring them to her mouth, and after a couple he would just take the bread, “Now what are you going to eat?” he would ask tauntingly as he moves to grab the basket as well, grinning mischievously at her as he keeps the food away from her. They hadn’t ever really eaten a meal together, and while he really wanted to he found it more amusing to play with her.

She smiled at his response to her thanks and when he tore his own piece of bread in half to stuff cheese between it she just shook her head. She liked cheese too, but bread sounded like a better idea at the time. However, she regretted that thought when he snatched it from her hands and took off with the basket of food. A pout, yes like a legitimate pout, crossed her features when he did that. After a brief pause her eyes narrowed on him when he teased her. "You, sire, have a lot to learn about women," she said as she stood up on the rock, pretending to glower at him. "You see. Coming between a woman and her food, especially when she's hungry, is never a good idea," she said as she hopped down from the rock and stalked towards him with her eyes narrowed. Instead of giving him the chance to turn tail and run, though, she darted forwards and literally pounced on him. When he landed on his back (because she would do whatever necessary to make that happen) she would straddle his hips and place her hands against his shoulders to pin him against the ground. Not that it wouldn't be easy to move her, considering her tiny frame, but hey. Then she leaned down really close to him and gently nipped at his lower lip, acting like she was going to kiss him. However, she didn't. Nope. Instead she wiggled on top of him and nibbled softly along his jaw line to his throat where she nipped the flesh there. She leaned back up; leaving her hands on his shoulders, and flashed a wicked grin. "Now. Are you going to give the lady her food back, or does she have to torture you a bit more?"

He really wasn’t expecting her to do that, so he hit his back quite easily with a grunt, though he kept a hold of the food. When she straddled his hips he would laugh, grinning up at her as she pinned him down with her hands on his shoulders, “Over food?” he would ask, only to have her nip his lip, and then instead of kissing him he felt her nibble along his jaw. He would groan softly, closing his eyes tightly as she tortures him. Only to open them when she spoke, causing him to chuckle softly as he looks up at her. He would let the food drop from his hands only to grasp her waist and suddenly flip them over so that he was hovering over her instead, “Mmm…maybe,” he would laugh softly as he moves to gently brush his lips along her jaw, closing his eyes as he did so. After gently nipping the skin just below her ear he would reach for the basket, snatching out the first piece of food that he could reach (a berry of some sort) before gently brushing it over her lips, “I would never keep the lady away from her food for long,” he would murmur softly, winking at her.

She laughed at his "over food" question, though obviously that wasn't what this was about. Well. Kind of. When he grasped her waist and flipped the two of them over so that he was hovering over her she gave him a mock pout. Though when he brushed the berry across her lips they parted slightly and curved in a smile. "You, sire, are just trying to seduce me," she teased gently. She carefully took the berry between her teeth, pulling it into her mouth to chew it before she swallowed. She grabbed his hand, though, so that he couldn't pull it away and reach for something else immediately. Instead she held it where it was and lifted her head slightly so that she could use her lips and tongue to suck the little bit of juice from the berry that stained his fingers. She let her tongue dance around the pad of his thumb before flashing him a mischievous smile and dropping her head back to its spot against the ground. "That was good. Is there more," she asked, teasingly. Laughter danced in her eyes and a smile played at her lips as she watched his facial expressions, curious as to what he might do next.

When she said that he was just trying to seduce her he would smirk, “That’s a very real possibility,” he would say. When she ate the berry he couldn’t help but grin, only to blink as she grabbed his hand. He would groan softly as she sucked on his fingers, lust burning in his eyes as he watches her, his jaw clenching tightly as he tried to maintain his control. When she stopped and spoke he couldn’t help but laugh, though the sound was rough and almost unamused in his throat; as if he was too distracted to be truly amused by it. “There’s more food…” he would assure her, though instead of reaching for them he would dip his head to press a fiery kiss to her lips. He would hold it for several moments before reaching for the basket and pulling out something else, this time pulling out a small roll. He would break a piece off and gently offer it to her, pressing it lightly against her lips as he stares down at her, his own hunger forgotten. This woman was truly going to be the death of him, and she didn’t even know it.

She smiled at the combination of his groan and his distracted laugh. Mission accomplished by the sounds and looks of it. Of course when he dipped his head to press a fiery kiss to her lips she squirmed underneath of him, but curled her arms around his neck to return the kiss. By the time he pulled away her breathing was heavier than it had been before the kiss. When he finally plucked a roll from the basket and pressed a piece of it against her lips she parted them and very carefully took it from between his fingers again, chewing slowly and watching the expressions on his face before she finally swallowed. She leaned her head up and pressed another sizzling kiss to his lips, letting it linger for a moment or two before she dropped her head back against the ground and smiled up at him. "We really should do what we came here for," she teased lightly. Though. The idea of where this was going did have her heart racing with excitement and anticipation, but she didn't know if he was that type or not. So instead she tried to gently urge him up off the ground.

When she kissed him again he would close his eyes, groaning softly as he kisses her back and moves his hand to gently cup her cheek. When she pulled back he couldn’t help but chuckle softly, his eyes smoldering as she suggests that they go do what they had intended to do here, “We are doing what we came here for,” he would say with a smirk, shifting to offer her another piece of bread though he didn’t move from where he was hovering over her. If she was allowed to tease him then he was sure as hell gonna tease her right back. “I’m feeding you, aren’t I?” he would ask with a grin, his brows lifting slightly as he knew that she couldn’t deny it. After she was finished with the piece of bread he would dip his head to gently kiss along her neck, nibbling lightly at her collarbone when he reaches it, “Mmm…this is a great picnic,” he would murmur before tracing his lips back up her neck and over her jaw, “What do you think?” he would ask as he shifts to kiss just below her ear, though his voice was obviously distracted. After a moment or two he would pull back to offer her more bread, winking playfully at her.
