Caillech Ó hÍcidhe

Personality: To the outside world Caillech is a very calm and collected young woman. She holds her tongue quite well, and is generally seen as something of a ghost in that everyone has seen her, but no one really knows her. She uses the fact that she comes from a long line of healers as a way to cover her tracks, so to speak, and has become amazingly adept at being unnoticed when she needs to be. In the same respect she can make herself stand out in a crowd should the need for such a thing present itself. However it is rare for her to ever stand out enough to catch someone's attention that she shouldn't, or for anyone to actually remember something about her other than that she's a familiar face. Her profession keeps her from making any true connections with people; be it friendship or enemies, but to her few family members she is a sweet, albeit extremely sarcastic woman. They love her dearly, just as she loves them and would do literally anything necessary to keep them safe; even if it's just from the knowledge of what she does for a living.



History: Born as Keena Ó hÍcidhe in a family known for turning out amazing healers, she too studied to become a healer from the time she was old enough to speak. However, when it came to learning herblore, the darker aspect of the herbs fascinated her on a level that she knew wouldn't be good for any of her family to learn. While she continued to learn everything necessary for a healer to know, she also sought instruction on the herbal things that her mother left out of her studies. In her search she came across an old woman who many dubbed a witch, but none were brave enough to face. The woman went by the name of Caillech, and as she was growing old, decided to take Keena under her wing and teach her everything that she knew.



When her mentor passed, Keena adopted the woman's name for use in public, and took her knowledge "on the road." Somehow she gained a reputation for being the one to turn to when one needed something covered up. And it was a reputation that seemed to follow her no matter where she went. In some way or another, all of the four kingdoms of Ireland have used her for help with their little; or big, scandals. She lent aide to Queen Morgan and Quinlan as a means of covering up the death of the late King Uinseann, she aided Queen Moira when her husband was killed by a Knight, and she even lent aid to Aodh Whelan when he suddenly found himself crowned as the King of Idritis after killing the late King Risteard. At some point in her past she had picked up a knack for giving speeches known to move mountains; ones that would explain away a death as an accident, or even turn the general populace's attention away from a matter entirely. It was because of this knack; along with her knowledge and skills with herbs, that she was hired for certain jobs over the years; often times in spite of her younger age.

In her line of work it's best for one to remain so thoroughly unnoticed that friendship is next to impossible. That said, there's a part of her that would like to befriend someone enough to have help in what she does at some point. (Sadly, much as she would like the ability, she cannot be in two places at once, and needs others with the way business has started to grow lately.)

Again, her general invisibility makes it hard for her to make real enemies. She's one of those "I know that face, but I don't know from where" type of people. Then again, if anyone knew a fraction of what she'd done she'd probably have a lot of enemies.

Lovers? Hah. That's funny, considering that she doesn't even have friends.
