The news of Aislin's departure from Avlora had kind of pissed him off. After all he'd done for her; she hadn't even taken the time to explain herself to him? Bri had been right when she'd said that there was something off about the girl. He should have listened to her, but he'd been trying to do the right thing by sticking to the promise he'd made to the girl's father. Apparently he no longer had to worry about that, though. Good thing he hadn't spent all that much time with her; otherwise he might actually be suffering from heart break. As it was, he was just kind of pissed about her lack of common courtesy. He shook his head as he finished feeding all of the livestock and headed to the stables to work on stripping and rebedding stalls. He forced his thoughts away from Aislin, and considered the war that was rumored to be looming over Ireland. As a knight he kind of hoped it would happen. The last war for him had been several years ago, and he was itching for battle with the prospect of war facing Ireland. Of course, he also thought the English and Scottish were idiots to even try. Hadn't they kicked the English's asses enough times for them to learn yet?

Hati had no idea how to react to the little red head's departure. She had been there when Nic had found out she had run off and left. All she could do was shake her head slowly at the thought that this had happened to the poor man. She had told him she would help with the homestead while Skoll was healing. Though it wouldn't be long for her sister. The Nord twins were built for fast healing.
Hati had been mucking out the stalls for the Twins' horses. Thinking about war was something to brighten the vikings' face but it also brought back some bad memories. Though Hati was more inside about the turmoils battle brought even to a shieldmaiden. She stuck to the stall she was in while she saw Nic move about and stopped to just even nod at the gent and continue. When she was done she took the shovel back to where it was and moved to a water basin to splash some water on her face. For a woman built for snow; the summer was killing her slowly.
She even just wore some light pants with a sleeveless shirt. Obviously she self-modded the shirt to have no sleeves. Her arms were quite intimidating, definitely built to hold a shield and anything that would try to send her and her shield flying. Her hair was pulled back in a loose braid with her usual mess of braids sticking out of it.

He started with the stalls furthest from where the manure was dumped on a regular basis. He worked quickly, but efficiently, as he allowed the manual labor to lighten his mood a bit. It wasn't like the world was ending, anyway, but thank the gods, again, that he hadn't allowed himself to get any closer to Aislin before she just up and left. He moved from stall to stall before he finally made note of the blonde Nord's presence and nodded to her in response. When the stalls were finally finished being stripped, and he had dumped the manure, he re-entered the stables and grabbed up a pitchfork so that he could begin rebedding the stalls that he'd just stripped. If the blonde was still in the stables by the time he started to rebed stalls he would turn his attention to her briefly while he worked. "Hvordan er din søster?" (How is your sister?) If she wasn't still there he would continue to work in silence, perhaps muttering a few words here and there or talking to one or two of the horses. Not that he believed they could talk back to him or anything. (Lol) He simply preferred their "conversation" to that of most humans currently.

She had still been there, looking at him from her own work on the horse stall. When she was done she would move to help him only to hear her language on his tongue again. Hati would be bluntly honest so in her context; it really made the man even more attractive to the viking. "Hun er rask til å komme seg. Vi nords er bygget tykk til å leve gjennom tøffe forhold." (She is quick to recover. We Nords are built thick to live through tough conditions.) She gave a smile when she answered. Working a bit until she raised her head. Thinking about her thoughts she felt a spark of play.
"Du er en attraktiv mann. Snakker i vår tunge er å gjøre det vanskelig å minne meg selv på at din kjæreste forlatt sengen." (You are an attractive man. Speaking in our tongue is making it hard to remind myself that your lover abandoned your bed.) Her lips curved in a wicked smile as she moved to back to work on bedding.
