Aodh had searched for, and eventually found, the girl who had introduced herself as Ciannait MacEoin. He wasn't sure what had made him seek her out, but he got the feeling that she was probably not best left alone. Especially in this palace, and especially if she was as hell bent on putting other people out of her misery as she had been with the king. Speaking of kings; somehow he was still wearing that stupid crown on his head. Neither the commander nor the captain had been able to give him any kind of advice when it came to choosing a more suitable person to claim the throne of the western kingdom. He was just going to have to think about it long and hard and possibly go against their wishes where someone was concerned. He fucking hated politics, and there was no way in hell he was keeping this stupid crown. As he caught up to Ciannait he grabbed her by the arm and gave her a suspicious look. "Where the hell have you been," he asked with a low growl as he tugged her towards the now clean private audience chamber without giving her much room to fight against his hold. "You landed me in this fucking position, and I'll be damned if I don't make you suffer right along side me, little lady. You're going to help me find a way out of this, and in the mean time..you're stuck here with me."

Fear spiked in her chest when she felt someone grab ahold of her wrist, immediately turning with her fist raised only to see that it was Aodh. She would drop her hand, though she was rather irritated and kind of leery about following him, though she really didn’t have a choice. She'd just finished the chore that she'd told him about, and was honestly just a little bit afraid that he was going to be pissed off at her for it and try her for murder now that he was the acting King and all. The princess had been easy to dispose of, she only wondered who else would be blamed for it. And if anybody really cared about it Aodh would have to do something. When the man growled at her she would snarl back, “I told you I had to go find the princess,” she would say, her eyes narrowing as she glared daggers at him. When he snapped at her that she had gotten him into this position she would scoff, “No, you got yourself into this damn positon. You didn’t have to come along! You’re the one who god damned changed their mind,” she would say, though she didn’t raise her voice. It wouldn’t do for a servant to come rushing in or whatever. “And I’m not staying here. I have things that I need to take care of,” she would hiss at him, jerking out of his hold and taking a few steps back.

He gave a low laugh that clearly wasn't amused. "Funny. Because you're the idiot who had the brilliant idea of putting the crown on my head "just in case"..not me. So, yes, you did get me into this situation, little girl. And yes, you will stay. You forget, you made it out so that I'm the *King* now, and guess what that means? Oh wait. That's right. It means I have a hell of a lot more power than you do. So you get to stay your happy ass in the castle, under constant supervision and strict orders that you will never be allowed near a weapon again if need be. And not just under constant supervision, but under constant supervision of the best fighters and assassins that the western kingdom has to offer, so they won't be over powered by a little girl like you. In fact, if you really want to push your luck I'll make sure the Captain and Commander both act as your baby sitters. They might hate me for it, but it's nothing compared to what Risteard did to them," he said with a shrug. "Now you can either agree to sit and stay like a good little girl and make this easier for everyone involved, or I can have giant, sweaty, hairy, smelly men that would repulse even a blind man with no sense of smell in here in a matter of seconds to pin your ass against either the floor or the wall and put you in shackles," he growled. What she didn't know was that he was lying through his fucking teeth about the whole shackles thing. Imprisonment wasn't his thing; mostly because he knew what it was like and had vowed never to do it to someone else. He'd rather take their heads off and have it over with than imprison them.

She would roll her eyes when she mentioned the crown thing, “Either freaking way, the damn servant would have walked in. Would you rather have a crown on your head or shackles around your wrists?” she would ask, though it was more of a rhetorical question. She knew what she’d been doing. There was just too many people around for them not to need a backup plan. Now, if it had been in the middle of the night like she’d planned it, it might not have happened this way. When he began to rave on about all of the ways that he would make her stay her she would groan, closing her eyes for several moments as her fists clench, though she didn’t raise them. “And what in the hell am I supposed to do here? It’s not like I’ll be of any fucking help, or that you’re even going to take my advice about anything. You seem to think that I’m just this little girl who has no idea about the big bad scary things that can happen in this world. Well fuck you. I’m nineteen freaking years old and I know more about what really goes on in this world than you might think,” she would spit out at him, having found herself rambling rather than making a good point on why she wasn’t needed here.

He rubbed a hand over his face at her whining because it grated on his nerves and he seriously found himself wanting to strangle the piss out of her right now. "If you really think I would have ended up in shackles, then you don't know shit about bounty hunters, little girl," he responded. "You're supposed to help me come up with a way to get out of this. The commander and captain are clueless on how to get me out of this, and it's obvious that I'm going to have to do something that pisses them off. I don't do politics, and you don't know that I won't take your advice. No, I don't think you're just a little girl who has no idea about the big bad scary things that can happen in this world," he said with a snort. "I think you're a young lady whose seen entirely too much of the bullshit that happens in this world. You want to be an assassin or a bounty hunter? Fine. Stay here with me, I'll show you the things that you don't know that will save your life. You wanted something out of staying here, well here's your fucking offer," he cursed, but there was no anger behind his words anymore. He was too weary from all of this shit. He just wanted to run for the forest and disappear again. Fuck politics, fuck being king, fuck whoever they might send after him for killing Risteard O'Maoduin. Just fuck everything. Maybe he'd get lucky and they would send someone who could actually manage to kill him. Not that he'd go down without a fight, but that was off the point completely. He was so fucking sick of everything.

She would throw her hands up in exasperation when he said that nobody knew what to do to get him out of this, “Why don’t you just take that stupid crown off of your freaking head and walk away?” she would ask, giving him a look that said that she was just about done with his stupidity. “When I put the freaking crown on your head you didn’t have to leave it there,” she would say, shaking her head slightly. Though, when he said that he thought that she was a young lady that had seen too much of the crappy things that the world could offer and that if she wanted to learn how to be an assassin or bounty hunter that she should stay with him she would sigh, lifting her hands to scrub at her face. “Fine,” she would say, though a deep frown had settled across her face, “But I don’t want to be an assassin or bounty hunter. I’m not killing people for money. I’m killing people because they’re bad, and Ireland doesn’t need the likes of them,” she would say, lifting her chin slightly as her jaw clenched; daring him to contradict her.

He shook his head at her comment. "Because it's not that simple. I may be a bounty hunter and a complete dumb ass but; miraculously, I do have some honor, and I can't leave the Western Kingdom to fall into civil war as everyone and their mother decides to fight for the right to the crown. This way at least it looks like there's a king, even if I'm not cut out for it, while we try to find a suitable replacement," he said on a sigh. He actually smiled at what she said about not killing for money and nodded. "Good. Then maybe you will be a little less haunted by this than those of us who do kill for money," he said simply with a shrug. "Still, you should at least learn the tricks of the trade that can save your ass. The things I can teach you aren't about making money as much as they are about keeping yourself safe; so you don't end up with a sword in your abdomen, your body dumped in the forest, and left for dead by someone who couldn't care less if you spend hours bleeding out in an extremely slow and painful death."

When he said what he did about having honor she would sigh, “Then I don’t know what you’re going to do,” she would say with a shrug, “When you kill somebody you’re supposed to take their place. You killed the King, now you’re supposed to succeed him. Especially because now he doesn’t have any offspring,” she would say. Upon hearing him say that it would be easier for her to deal with killing people she would shrug, letting her gaze drop to the ground only to have him speak about teaching her the tricks of the trade, “That’s probably the best idea, though I have had quite a lot of training. I’ve been at this for years, training for the day when I could kill Quinlan O’Hare,” she would say, spitting out the name. It was then that she realized why she hadn’t been able to kill the man; it wasn’t that she had choked or that she’d been too weak. It’s that he’d surrendered, submitted to whatever fate she might deal to him without a second though; that alone made him less of a bad guy. And it only irritated her more. He shouldn’t be given a free ticket just because he wanted to let himself be killed. It was absurd, and she kept telling herself that over and over again.

He shook his head. "I didn't kill the king, though," he said with a sigh. "I know that's technically how it's supposed to be, but I can't do this king thing. It's not who I am. It's damn sure not something that I've ever wanted. I wanted Risteard dead, but," he shook his head. It was then that her words sank in and he starred at her. "What do you mean now that he doesn't have any offspring? Tell me you didn't murder Cliona," he said with shock evident in his tone. "Clio wasn't brilliant, surely, but she suffered as much at the hands of her father as many of the Western people did," he said and cringed as he rubbed the top of his nose between his thumb and forefinger. When she said what she did about having been at this for years he nodded. "As have I. But there are things that I can teach you that learning the trade yourself wouldn't," he assured her. "I spent a few years traveling with a woman who was a forest dwelling herbalist. She would travel into town once in a while and trade her knowledge and skills for supplies that couldn't be gathered from the forest. And living in the forest taught me as much as she did," he admitted with as shrug. "Look; while I'm the temporary king I can cover your ass, but I can also teach you better ways to cover it than just throwing a crown on someone's head. Even if you happen to get caught," he said with a sigh as he rubbed a hand over his face. "And no, you don't always have to kill witnesses."

When he asked her about Clio she would shake her head sharply, “No, she deserved it. And you’re right, she was stupid. I told her what had happened and asked her to take it to her father and she did NOTHING. She told me that she had her own problems to deal with. Did you want her people demanding that she take the throne? Hmm? Somebody who would always have their own problems to deal with?” she would ask, her eyes dark and angry as she spoke about the woman. She would calm, though, when he began to speak about living with a woman in the woods she appeared interested, finally intrigued as to what he might have to offer. She would blink when he said that while he was the temporary king that he could cover her ass, not having expected it, “Really?” she would ask, only to quiet as he began to speak about being able to teach her how to deal with situations like that herself. When he spoke about not always having to kill witnesses she would stare at him for a moment, wondering if he was joking, “I would never kill a witness,” she would say, her brows furrowing as she shakes her head.

He rubbed a hand over his face and held his hands up in surrender when she said what she did about Cliona. "Alright," was all he said. He couldn't think of anything else. When she asked if he would really cover her ass he lifted his shoulders in a shrug. "I don't see why not," he said with a light chuckle. "You're a good young woman," he shrugged again. "And I fully support the concept behind what you're doing. I just don't think it would be overly smart to go public with it. There are those out there who wouldn't approve and might try to have you killed off in their own ways," he warned. "You'll probably still run into that problem once in a while even without it being public knowledge, but it will be a hell of a lot less often," he admitted. When she said what she did about killing a witness he would not. "That might be so, but you need to learn what to do in those situations. There's a first time for everything, apparently, and today was damn sure my first time ever getting caught," he said with a shake of his head. Damn.

Upon hearing him say that he supported what she was doing she would grin, a real smile that actually lit up her silver eyes. Though, it would fade just as quickly as it appeared when he went on to say that it wouldn't be a good idea to go public with it, "I'm not stupid," she would comment; she knew that going public with her 'mission' wouldn't be a good idea. When he spoke about people still targeting her anyways she would shrug slightly, "Let them try. And if they succeed at least I won't have to live in this hell hole anymore," she said, not referring to the palace but the world as a whole. When he told her that she needed to learn what to do in those situations she would nod, "I know. It's the only reason why I'm sticking around," she would say, too stubborn to admit that she would actually want to learn what he had to offer. "But I'm not going to bow down to you, or call you majesty. Not going to kiss your ring either," she would say, a smirk developing over her lips.

He shook his head at her "I'm not stupid" comment. "Never said you were, kid. Gods you need to learn how to listen," he mumbled the last part. He had nothing to say in response to what she said about letting them try, so he remained silent until she spoke again and he rolled his eyes. "I'm not interested in being called "majesty" or having people bow down to me and kiss some god awful ring. Ugh. That; I'm definitely not wearing," he said as he shuddered. "Besides; I'm going to find someone suitable to place on the throne, even if it takes me a while. Like I said. I don't do politics," he shrugged. He glanced around the private audience chamber and made a face. "Gods this place is awful," he said and shuddered again. "I thought Chastershire was bad. This makes that place look like a freaking sanctuary," he mumbled with a shake of his head. There was no way he could stay in this place for any real length of time. Which reminded him that he was fucking exhausted from the day's events and his stomach was pretty much completely empty at this point in time. Ugh. He rubbed a hand over his face and glanced back to Ciannait. "You hungry?"

She would laugh at his response to her saying that she wasn't going to call him majesty, "I just figured that it needed to be said. I'm not gonna do it, even if you do get the stick out of your rear and realize that there's worse people that could sit the throne," she would say with a shrug. She wasn't inviting a conversation on the topic, merely speaking her mind. When he commented on this place being bad, and that this place made his earldom look like a sanctuary she would roll her eyes, "So, have it torn down and rebuilt. I'm sure the crown has the funds for it," she would say, letting her gaze dance around the room as well. It was rather unappealing; she had a feeling that if ever a palace had a decided taste, it would be this one. The place was so cloyingly sweet it was vomit-inducing. Which was somewhat of an exaggeration because when Aodh asked her if she was hungry her stomach would give off a very audible growl, "Apparently," she would say with exasperation, a sigh falling from her lips. "Though, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't eat at the palace for awhile," she would say, mischief dancing in her eyes, "There's always rumors about the dead being used in the meals," she would say, her brows lifting slightly as she watches him. Okay, so she realized that he wasn't a little kid that was easily gullible, but it was still fun to mess around about these things.

He shook his head at what she had to say, not interested in arguing the point with her. Besides, he pretty much caught on to the fact that she wasn't trying to invite conversation on the subject. When she said what she did about having the castle torn down and rebuilt he laughed and shook his head. "Rebuilt into what, exactly? I'm a man who is used to sleeping under the stars. I highly doubt anyone else would appreciate a castle without a roof," he said with a smirk. Her comment about people being used in the meals made him flash a grin. "Maybe I like to eat people," he said with a low laugh. Though he shook his head at the thought and tilted his head towards the door. "There are places to eat other than the palace," he said with a shrug. "I'll buy. You deserve it since you did the dirty work, and I've got more than enough money. Especially once I collect the bounty that was on his head," he said with a chuckle. "That is..Unless you'd rather we go hunt our own food," he shrugged again. He wasn't above that sort of thing, but had no idea what she preferred. Hell. He didn't really know anything about her.
