Aodh strode down the palace halls from the private audience chamber to the public one. There was a team of servants currently cleaning up the private chamber, though he'd managed to convince them to allow him to keep the man's head. Ugh. He'd had someone wrap it up, and as soon as he got the chance he would take it to the East and present it to Andraste Rowan. That might take some time, though, depending on how things with the commander went over. A sigh drifted from him as he entered the public audience chamber and glanced towards the throne. He really didn't want to sit in that thing, so he chose to remain standing. The crown that Ciannait had placed on his head still rested there, and he found himself uncertain if he should leave it on or remove it. Though he'd heard the commander was blind, so maybe it wouldn't matter. This all just seemed so strange to him. What was he supposed to do? He wasn't cut out to be an Earl, never mind a fucking king. Another sigh blew from his lips as he rubbed a hand over his face for what felt like the hundredth time in the last ten minutes.

Enda moved towards the audience chamber and sighed as he passed by some servants. He didn't have his cane he just knew if he gave them the face of anger people would just get out of the way. As he got into the audience room he could smell him. The scent made him squint, he knew very well the man killed Risteard and of course he had no problem with it. But he wanted to make sure the man on the throne was a good leader like the Coughlans had been good leaders. Moving in the knights that were in the door way silenced and Enda raised his hand quietly and then left, everyone left. This was a Commander not to be taken from his rank. That was a fact.
His body moved to stop on que and he bowed just slightly. "I heard you are Aodh Whelan?" He smirked. "King I gather now." He would say quietly. The smell seemed to draw him back and he glanced down for a moment. A facial reaction played on his face. It was sort of annoyed. Leaning his head back up to 'look' at Aodh. "I would be Commander Enda McNamara.." He would sigh a little.
Shaking his head a little. After a moment of silence. "And why do you smell like Anna?" Shaking his head. "Captain Anna O'Finn." Why were they both smelling like each other? Was this the man who was bathing and had to deal with Anna while she was drunk? Enda could feel a bit of his jealousy play but he didn't let it show on his outer shell.

When the commander arrived he would cease fidgeting, which he had been doing while he waited for the man to arrive, and look up. He nodded when the man said something about him being Aodh Whelan, but cringed slightly at the king thing. "I am Whelan, yes," he said, choosing not to comment about the king thing. It just made him want to scream. Damnit. How could he have been so foolish? When Enda said who he was he nodded absently, though he remembered that the man was blind. "Commander," he said. He was about to explain the situation to the man when Enda asked why he smelled like the Captain. "Er. We met the other day," he said in as nonchalant a tone as he could. Something told him that the commander was a bit protective of the captain, so he was trying his best to make the man realize that he hadn't harmed the woman. "Went out for a drink and got into a bar fight," he said with a shake of his head. "I ended up telling her a bit of my story, and she decided that while she was on leave she would collect a bounty that I had placed on someone's head a while ago," he said as he rubbed a hand over his face again. He started pacing, trying to get the nervous energy out. "She brought me the person's head and asked to stay for the night. I allowed her to stay, since she and her horse both needed the rest. She had a few too many drinks; something I gather she doesn't do often, and I helped her to the guest chamber. She tried to take my head off at on point, but I managed to stop it from happening and put her to bed," he explained, though he did leave out the bath bit. "She only left Chastershire this morning," he said with a shrug.
Without giving the man the opportunity to respond to his explanation he pressed on. "I asked to meet you, Commander, because I'm not exactly sure how the hell I got myself in this situation," he admitted with a shake of his head. "I came to collect the bounty on your king's head," he was only saying these things because they were the only people in the audience chamber at the moment. "It was a hefty price, and couldn't be turned down. Especially considering the things I know about the man. He was killed with the help of..a friend. She's a bit new to the whole bounty hunting thing and thought it would be a smart idea to try to give a cover in case someone caught us. I've never been caught before, but working with new people doesn't always go as planned. Anyway. For some reason a servant entered the private audience chamber, took one look at the crown that the new girl placed on my head, and decided that I was the new king," he continued to pace the whole time that he was talking. "I'm not cut out to be an Earl, never mind a king. Hell, I haven't even been to court in the last fourteen years, minus once or twice in the last couple of weeks. I lived in the forest for most of those last fourteen years for Christ's sake. I don't know the first thing about running an Earldom, never mind an entire kingdom. Surely there's someone whose more cut out for this than I am?"

He would nod to the new King. Crossing his arms quietly and listening to him. So she took on a bounty. He actually gave a deadly smirk at that. Of course she was working on her time off. He even kind of shook his head a little but he didn't say anything on it. The man's pacing was starting to get to Enda and he sighed silently again. "No she has never really drank that much." He said calmly. "Thus is why she smelled like another man." He insisted a bit. "I am more perceptive by smell and sound."
"Enda please, no one is here ye don't need to call me Commander." He lifted a hand to stop the man. Enda listened to the man and had his head pace with him. "I was unaware there was a bounty on the old man's head." He would admit. Enda felt like it was a bit of a slip up in all honesty. "Though it does not surprise me considering he had been working on turning the West on Ireland." A part of Enda sighed in happiness that hopefully that had been scrapped. Now something was coming back to him, Whelan. He'd smirk a bit to Aodh and he remembered who he was now. Though it did not make Enda uneasy. He would give way to a sigh. "Hell, the old King had a daughter but she is more about fleeing her Kingdom to others and flirting with the men. The ruler before him passed from old age and they had twin daughters but both are now Queens of their own Kingdoms. I am sure you know the story." He said to quicken it up. "I don't know any other really that could take up a Kingdom at this moment. Surely I could try but I can not be a Commander and a King at the same time." He said it in all honesty. The Commander role was his. And he would defend it.

Post by Anna O'Finn on Aug 25, 2014 5:39:50 GMT
Anna had been in the middle of taking a bath after having not only ridden in from Chastershire earlier, but then taking Enda out to the Capital for dinner, when there was a knock at her door. She had been on leave for awhile, but she had basically not really had a day off. She was informed that the King demanded her presence in his Audience Chambers. Growling in irritation, Anna shooed the servant away, "No, I am not wearing that uniform. DO ye have any bloody idea what time it is?" Anna would quickly get the lavendar soap out of her hair and tie it into a quick braid and put on one of her simple knight uniforms. "The King can piss on the fancy armor at this bloody hour," she grumbled to the walls of her room.
Anna would make her way quickly through the halls and into the King's Audience Chamber, where she saw Enda and Aodh alone. Was this some sort of joke? Her stormy blue eyes would narrow and she would pass by Enda, gently placing her hand upon his shoulder for a moment so that he would know it was her. After all, she had now used one of her own soaps and smelled more like herself. Her braided hair was still wet from having just gotten out of the bath. Then she would stalk towards Aodh, glaring at the man, because really, she did not see Enda up to tricks. Not that she thought Aodh was a jokester, by any means, but where was the idiot king?
When she was close enough to Aodh, she would challenge: "I know I said ye were one of m' new best friends, but what sort of joke is this? I am still on leave and I was told that my presence was demanded here by the King. Why are Enda an' ye here? I have nae had a chance to rest, and the King is nae even here, the bloody son of..." at which point, she trails off, having noticed what seemed out of place: the crown on Aodh's head. She then lightly punched Aodh in the arm, though she was not trying to hurt him, and he would be able to tell that. Then she would dare to glare between both men, though she knew Enda could not see it, she would not be surprised if he could feel it. "The bloody hell is goin' on? I have no sense of humor at this hour." This last part was said a bit crossly.

Aodh forced himself to stop pacing and turned to face the commander. He didn't get the chance to respond to the man before Anna strode into the audience chamber and started blathering on about the king and then seemed to think they were trying to pull a prank on her. His face was stone cold sober, though, when he shook his head at her. "I'm not playing a joke on you, Anna," he said with a sigh as he rubbed a hand over his face. He was going to have to explain things all over again. "Basically three women put a bounty on Risteard's head that was too good for me not to collect when presented with the opportunity. I came, brought someone I'm teaching the trade to, killed the king, and she decided that it was a brilliant idea to put the king's crown on my head "just in case." Well..A servant happened to walk into the private audience chamber and saw the crown on my head. She decided that I was the new king and went to spread the word and bring the Commander and you here for a meeting," he explained as briefly as he could manage.
Then he turned his attention to Enda, and a frown was etched across his face. "Surely almost anyone would be better than me at this point in time. I might have been born the heir to an Earldom, but my life has been spent mostly as a forest dweller and a bounty hunter. I don't know shit about politics, and what I do know I hate. I don't have the patience or the knowledge to be a politician. I hate being an Earl, and being a king is literally a hundred times worse. Surely even a foreign prince or princess would be better at this time? Can't we like bring one of them in and marry them to a Duke or something and then put them on the throne? There's like fifty different Dukes in Ireland or something, isn't there? Surely one of them would be a hell of a lot better suited to this crown than I am. I don't want it, for starters, and second of all I'm a shit politician. Your people would hate me being the king, and I can almost guarantee the west would be in ruin by the end of a month if I stayed the king," he ranted. He had absolutely no faith in his ability to be an Earl, and even less in his ability to be a King. "Captain? Do you have any suggestions on someone who could take over the kingdom? It seems the Commander is much more interested in being a commander."
