General Behavior: Fia, like her name sake, is a rather flighty little girl. There are a lot of things that make her nervous, or outright scare her. Because of this she has a tendency to run and hide in the closest little nook she can find whenever she gets scared. She has no real friends, and rarely talks to anyone. Most people think she is simple minded because of her anti-social nature. The truth is that she's just been taught not to speak unless spoken to. Once in a blue moon she might find someone who hits on a subject that interests her. When that happens she does tend to babble.
On the rare occasions that she gets time to herself, she almost always escapes outside. She likes to feet the grass between her toes, run across open meadows, and jump over natures obstacles. Her mother always said that she acted like a fawn, and that's where she got the name Fianait. Her father said it was because even as a baby she had wide eyes and a skittish personality.

Fia was born the only child of Jarlath and Gweneth Brogan. Her parents may have had more children, but they were servants, and her mother was always saying that they couldn't afford to have any more children. Despite this they adored their only child and, while they couldn't give her everything her heart desired, they did spoil her with love and affection. More than that, they showed her that a married couple; even among servants, could be happy and in love. With parents that were servants, she began working at an early age. it never bothered her that she had to work, especially since it kept her busy. For a time in her life, everything was normal. But, as is wont to happen with servants, her parents became ill one day and could not afford the physician. Fia, being the only one in the family who was healthy, had to double her work load to make up for her parents' illness. Which meant she didn't have time to spend nursing them. She was ten when they passed.
When she was eleven she was cleaned up and brought to the king. He thought her a "pretty little thing" and wanted to be the one to "have her first." She hadn't realized that all of that meant at first, being so young and focused on getting by in life. When she did realize his intentions she tried to fight, but that only made things worse. Where he had been careful at first, he became violent; using it as some sort of punishment against her. When it was over she was ordered from his bed and if not for her mother's former best friend, she would have been left to her own defenses. As it was, Duana looked after her. She saw that Fia was cleaned up and did her best to comfort the girl. For some time the king continued to order her to his bed, and she had no choice but to go. After the first night he wasn't quite as rough, but he was never gentle, either. When she was twelve she found herself pregnant, and when others learned of it she was taken and an abortion was forced on her.
Her life continued in much this manner; even being forced to abort two more pregnancies, until she was fourteen. Her father's cousin; whom she hadn't heard from since her parents were alive, began writing to her. When she told Dallas what her life had consisted of, the other woman promised to get her out of the Western king's clutches as soon as she could. A few months ago; the woman made good on her promise. She orchestrated a distraction that gave Fia her opportunity to escape. She took it and fled to the north where Dallas Brogan was living and working as a servant. The woman got her a job working in the kitchens of the palace. Since then she has done everything she can to avoid royals and nobles alike.
