She had managed to ditch her sister, but only because she'd wandered into the library. Not that Casidhe wasn't smart, but she hated libraries; preferring to read or study in the comfort of her own room. Alana, on the other hand, loved to study and read in the library itself. She wandered around the library, scanning the various titles of different kinds of books. She found herself briefly closing her eyes and just breathing in the scent of books all around her. After a moment or two she opened her eyes again as she wandered through the library a bit more. Finally she found a section of the library that interested her, but she would never look twice at if her sister was around. There was a part of Alana that she kept hidden from everyone else in the world. That part was one that had a secret love of weapons and everything that went with them. She particularly loved reading about the different styles of weapons and how they'd developed over the years. It took her a moment or two of sorting through the books and scrolls that lined the walls, but eventually she managed to find a title that looked particularly interesting. The book was rather old, but it was pretty large and from what she could tell by flipping through a few of the pages it had a well documented list of weapons. She hauled the book over to the closest, and most secluded, seat that she could find and settled at the table with it.

Abi hadn't ended up making it back to Morgan's chambers after she'd left the previous night to wander so that she wouldn't disturb her. She had started to go earlier, but there was some kind of commotion and she'd decided that it probably wasn't the best time for her to return; she didn't want to interrupt anything important. So, she had continued to wander until she found herself at the library. She would peer at the doors for a moment before finally deciding to enter; she loved to read but she didn't make it here very often. She usually settled with the books in Morgan's chambers.
When she entered she would let her gaze drift around the place, curious as to what might be on the shelves and such. After a moment of just standing there she would actually move towards the closest cluster of books, glancing over titles and occasionally pulling a book from the shelf as she tried to find something that interested her. She would make her way slowly around the library until she had finally found something; the history and traditions of old Irish wedding ceremonies. She hadn't originally been looking for something related to the wedding, but she'd caught sight of the book and knew she had to read it. So, after grabbing the book she would go in search of a comfortable place to read. Which was how she stumbled upon one of her ladies in waiting. When she caught sight of the girl leaning over a rather large book she couldn't help but laugh softly before moving to join her, "Interesting?" she would ask, gesturing to the book that the girl was reading.

She'd been so absorbed in the book and flipping back and forth as she compared sketches of different weapons from different eras and read up on their improvements over time that she hadn't even realized Abi was there. At least not until the other woman spoke. And so when Abi said something she literally jumped in her seat. Her head snapped up, but when she saw who was speaking to her she allowed herself to relax a little bit. "Probably not to most women," she admitted a bit sheepishly. Her gaze drifted to the book that Abaigael held and she flashed a grin when she saw the title. "Oooh," she said. "Getting ideas for the wedding," she asked with a tilt of her head. She glanced down at the book in front of her and frowned a little. "Should have thought about that myself so you didn't have to do it on your own," she said with a shake of her head. "Unfortunately I have a secret love for looking at these types of books, and this is about the only place that I seem to be able to come to escape my sister," she said with a giggle. She moved her hand so that Abaigael could see what she was reading if she was so inclined.

She couldn't help but laugh softly at the girl's startled reaction, a grin splitting her lips, "I apologize, I didn't mean to startle you," she would say, though her tone was rather amused. When she heard the girl's response to her question she would shake her head, "Who cares? The only thing that matters is that it's interesting to you," she would assure the girl. She was just glad that she seemed comfortable enough to share that with her. When the girl showed interest in the book that Abi had chosen she would beam, "Yes, I figured it would help," she'd say with a shrug, though when the girl said that she should have done that she'd laugh, shaking her head. "No, it's not your wedding. If you want to spend your free time on yourself, then that is just fine with me," she would say with a smile. Upon hearing her last sentence Abi would grin, "It's not unfortunate," she'd assure her, "Though I'm glad you've found somewhere that you can. When one is with a sibling for too long they tend to behave less kindly towards their sibling," she would say, speaking from experience. When the girl moved her hands she would hardly notice; she didn't care what pleased the girl as long as she was happy, the rest was Alana's business.

She couldn't help but laugh when Abi was so obviously amused at the fact that she'd managed to startle her. "It's fine," she assured the other woman. "I was just so absorbed that I didn't even realize there was anyone else around," she admitted. She laughed at Abaigael's assurance and flashed the woman a smile. Now if only everyone else felt that way. She shook those thoughts from her head when Abi continued to speak. "Well, then thank you. I appreciate that," she said, beaming at the other woman. With the comment on siblings she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes. I completely agree," she said with a laugh. Her gaze drifted back to the book that was in Abaigael's hands and she fidgeted a bit in her seat. "Okay. Now I want to know what's in that book," she said with a grin. "I have a huge soft spot for weddings, and reading about old traditions makes it that much more interesting," she laughed. "I'm not trying to be nosy or anything. If you'd rather some privacy while reading I'll just go back to my book," she added quickly, realizing that what she'd said could be seen as rude. She shook her head slightly and flicked her gaze back to her own book for a moment.

Upon hearing the girl say that she wanted to know what was in her book she would grin, "Me too," she'd say with a wink; the kind of wink that an aunt gave to their niece or something, she wasn't flirting with the girl. When she said that she had a soft spot for weddings and the like she'd smile, only to shake her head as the girl began to apologize, "Oh no, it's fine," she would say quickly, wondering if she should just let the girl read the book herself. She would think about it for a moment before shifting so that she could set the book on the table and they would both be able to see it. Abi wasn't the kind of individual to deny somebody something that they truly wanted, unless it was dangerous or something like that.
She would open the book and let her gaze skim over the page, wondering if they would be able to find any inspiration. The girl had given her a few ideas the day before, but she would need more than just that to be able to pull off a wedding. She just wished that she could stand planning with her betrothed; she just didn't want to continuously hear the same thing, ' Whatever you want, Abi'. After a few moments she would glance at the girl, "Have you ever planned anything like this before?" she would ask curiously. She didn't think that she had, but one could never be certain unless they asked.

She grinned when Abit settled the book onto the table where they could both see it. Her gaze traveled quickly over the pages. She was a bit of a speed reader, and it didn't take much for her to be able to commit things to memory, either. When Abi asked if she'd ever planned something like this before she shook her head with a slight frown. "Well, no, not exactly. I mean, I've helped people a few times when they didn't know what they were doing, but I haven't ever helped plan a whole wedding," she admitted. "But I do have to say that if this was a trade I would definitely have to be in," she said with a laugh. "As my father's heir I've probably over seen close to fifty weddings as a witness," she said with a smile. "And they've all been absolutely beautiful in their own unique ways. Oh. That's what you need to do. Find something that makes your wedding uniquely yours," she said. "Even if it's something as simple as coming up with a slightly different style for your dress. One thing that I've heard more people brag about more than anything else is the fact that their wedding will never be the exact same as someone else's."

She would nod a bit when she said that she hadn't helped plan a full wedding before, biting gently at her bottom lip. She figured that she had helped with at least one for how much she knew, but when she said that she'd witnessed a lot Abi would smile. It made much more sense now. Upon hearing her talk about the wedding being unique she would laugh, closing her eyes tightly as she tries to refrain from making any louder noises. Once she was finished she would shake her head, "Oh jeeze... don't you think that the couple is unique enough?" she would ask, rather amused. She wasn't trying to put the girl down, but she didn't think that they could get much more unique than having the first same sex marriage. She would grow serious though, offering the girl a genuine smile, "Anyways, what are you thinking about to make it unique?" she would ask with a tip of her head. She knew that the girl had to have some sort of idea or something. Abi definitely wasn't the best when it came to stuff like this; if she knew the girl better she probably would have just given her full rein over the wedding planning.

She giggled at Abaigael's comment. "I don't think the couple counts," she said with a laugh. "I've seen some really...unique couples before, and they still had something about their wedding that was more unique than just the pairing," she said as she shook her head. She frowned when Abi asked what she had in mind as far as unique went. "Well there are a lot of different things that you could do," she said with a smile. "One thing that I've never seen before, but always thought seemed like a really cool idea would be a couple getting married while they and their clergy person were on horseback," she said with a grin. "Of course; that would probably be best reserved for people who really love horses, but it's a thought anyway," she said with a laugh and shake of her head. "I also think it would be really cool to see just an out door wedding in general instead of one that's stuffed into a room that's much to crowded and stuffy," she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Some people have had out door weddings before, but I've never heard of royals who have," she said with another shrug. "I think you should work with a seamstress on your dresses," she said honestly. "They tend to be pretty good at helping people who want to be creative."

When she heard the girl say that couples didn’t count she would laugh, “I suppose you’re right,” she would say with a shrug. She didn’t completely agree, though. She knew that herself and Morgan would probably be the most unique couple in Irish history; a Queen marrying her lesbian lover. When the girl commented about the horses thing she would wrinkle her nose slightly, not quite liking the idea. She wasn’t very keen on smelling horse crap while she was trying to share a special moment with her love, nor did she like the idea of one of the horses spooking, or anything like that. There were just too many variables in a situation like that. Though, when she said that she liked the idea of an outdoor wedding Abi would nod, liking this option a lot better than the last, “Actually, that’s actually a pretty good idea. We could have the ceremony in the Gardens,” she would murmur, chewing on her bottom lip as she tries to imagine how everything would work out. Upon hearing Alana say that she should work with a seamstress on her dress she would nod, though she didn’t know the first thing about where to even find a seamstress. She was more dependent on Morgan and other servants than she thought she was.

She grinned at Abi's suggestion about having a ceremony in the gardens. "Oh. I didn't even think about that. I was thinking just outside in general, but now that you brought up the gardens thing; that would probably be better than just in some random field," she said with a laugh. "Especially since the gardens are maintained on a regular basis, and the flowers are already there." She pulled the book a bit closer to her so that she could flip through the pages a bit, keeping one finger marking the page that Abi had it open to. She flipped through the pages, but didn't find all that much that was overly helpful. With a sigh she flipped back to the page she had marked with her finger and laid the book flat again. She chewed on her lower lip as she mulled through her thoughts, but for some reason she'd hit a dead end with her creativity. "I'm not really sure what else to suggest," she said with a slight pout. "I guess the most important part is making it uniquely your wedding and not feeling pressured to change this that or the other just because someone who isn't actually a part of the wedding wants it that way," she said.

She would smile when the girl talked about having the wedding in the gardens, and about how it would be better than in some random field, “And that way we’re not killing so many flowers for decoration,” she would say. Bringing Morgan a bouquet of wild flowers every once in awhile was a lot different than supplying a royal wedding with flowers for decoration and whatnot. She would watch quietly as the girl pulled the book closer to her and began to flip through the pages, wondering if she would find anything interesting in there, though when she finally put it down and said that she couldn’t think of anything else to suggest she couldn’t help but laugh softly, “You’ve already helped a lot,” she would say with a grin, assuring the girl that she had done much more than she would have expected from somebody she’d just met yesterday. When she went on to remind her about making sure it was unique, and then to tell her to not let other people dictate how her wedding was set up she couldn’t help but laugh, “That’s kind of ironic,” she would grin, “I’ve enlisted your help, yet you’re telling me to not listen to people who want to change things,” she couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head slightly.

She laughed at Abi's comment, but frowned a bit. "Well, I didn't mean it like that. I meant like someone who wants you to change things to more closely match a traditional wedding because they think they know everything," she said. "You're enlisting my help and I'm giving you suggestions. There's a big difference there. You can toss out whatever suggestions I give to you that you don't like. And I won't be offended by it. People who think they know everything would be extremely offended if they told you to change something or do something one way and you rejected their ideas," she pointed out with a smile. "You could stop taking my suggestions all together in favor of someone else's or in favor of thinking about things all on your own and I wouldn't mind. I'm just here to try to stir your creativity," she said with a giggle. "And because I like helping people and planning weddings. But if you decide at any point you don't like my suggestions or don't want them anymore all you have to do is say so and I'll bow out gracefully," she said with another giggle. "I'm not demanding. Or. At least not when it comes to my suggestions."

She couldn’t help but laugh when the girl started to tell her that there was a difference, and that she could stop taking her suggestions at any time that she wanted, and that she wouldn’t be offended. She hadn’t meant to make it seem like she didn’t want the girl’s advice, and she was so eager to convince her that she wasn’t trying to pressure her into certain ideas that she was rather amused by it. When Alana finally stopped she would grin at her, shaking her head a bit, “I didn’t mean it that way. It was just something that I found amusing,” she would admit with a shrug, “I value your opinions on my wedding greatly,” she would say with a smile. She would reach out to gently pat the other girl’s shoulder in a reassuring manner, “I don’t think that you’re demanding things at all. And you have offered some truly fantastic ideas,” she would say with a nod, trying to convince the girl that she wasn’t trying to suggest that she was being annoying or something. Because she found Alana to be quite the opposite; the girl was actually quite interesting and chalk full of intelligent ideas and creative concepts.

She laughed at Abi's assurances that she wasn't being a pain in the ass with all of this. "Well, thank you," she said. For a moment or two she turned her attention back to the book that she'd pulled from the shelves. And then an idea hit her. Of course it did. How could it not given the book that she was reading? "Oh," she exclaimed. "I just had an idea. You should do a knight games type of tournament to happen after the wedding. You could send out runners to the different kingdoms and even possibly to kingdoms outside the four that we know. And to greet the guests before the tournament starts you could have a masquerade after the wedding ceremony," she said, beaming. "Wedding celebrations should be big anyway. Why not go all the way," she asked with a tilt of her head. The idea of seeing a bunch of knights with awesome weapons beating the crap out of each other made her grin from ear to ear. "I mean. I know you're in love with Morgan and what not, but I think it would be absolutely awesome to watch a bunch of men clad in armor beating the crap out of eachother. Of course..I'm weird," she admitted with a giggle.
