Post by Ciar MacAteer on Aug 1, 2014 5:04:29 GMT
Ciar was dancing, innocently on her part, near the Scottish King. For a few moments, she actually forgot to keep an eye on her brothers, and that is when they noticed her dancing near someone whom did not even have his hands on her. Her tiny 5'3" frame was dwarfed momentarily when both Lorcan and Connall stopped what they were doing and systematically took out the man that dared to dance with her. She immediately stopped dancing, and that is when Cori tugged her away in her protective fashion. Her brown eyes widened in disbelief and she watched as Connall then immediately left, taking one of the Queens with him. Literally scooping the woman into his arms and rushing off with her. Just before this whole ordeal, Lorcan had had his hands on Cori, dancing closely with her.
So it was okay for her two brothers to do whatever with whomever they wanted, but she couldn't even dance next to someone? She had no intentions of doing anything with the much older man, and she had not even really danced with anyone and now it was highly unlikely that anyone ever would. Tears burned at her eyes, slowly building, and she raises her gaze to Lorcan, since Connall took off without a second thought.
"Really? Really?" she asked, her voice choked with emotion. Her lower lip trembled. She looked to Cori, moving closer to the comfort of the lady knight standing beside her. She whispers, "I dressed up and everything... for this?" Ciar's own dress did not suffer any blood to it, because Duncan had turned towards Lorcan, Connall, and Cori's approach. Apparently her brothers recognized her and never wanted any man around her ever, and possibly never wanted her to dance with anyone, or do much of anything. Her very first Masquerade Ball and her brothers go to blows. Ciar's emotions are running high, mixed with a hint of confusion, and a bit of pain. She might as well be Rapunzel, at this rate. What was a girl to do? Her eyes settled on Cori's dagger and a secret desire to join the knight games was born.

As soon as the man was on the floor his foot was flying into his ribs, repeatedly. After what sounded like a crunch Lorcan would finally stop and whirl around, figuring that the man had learned his lesson; nobody, and he meant NOBODY, would dance with his little sister unless he approved of them. And especially not a man like him. After he was done he would whirl around to find his sister, instantly relieved to find her with Cori. He would show the Viking a crooked smile, thanking her in his own way before responding to her, “Yes, very happy,” he would say, though his jaw was clenched and his hands trembled due to the adrenaline that was rushing through his veins. When he finally looked towards his sister he would notice the broken look on her face, though he figured that it was because she thought that they would have to leave. Honestly, he doubted it, and would move towards the girl, “Come here, Princess,” he would murmur soothingly to her, reaching out for her hand, “I’ll dance with you,” he would assure her, offering her the same smile that he had shown to Cori. “At least with me you won’t have to worry about old pervs,” he would say jokingly, winking playfully at his little sister as he waited for her to give him her hand, oblivious to the fact that she might be angry with him over it.

He flashed a smile when she said that she was glad Renny had demanded that he come. He, honestly, hadn't expected to find her this happy to see him. And then she commented about the pup and he had to do his best to hide his look of disappointment. "She's doing great," he said with a forced smile. "Actually, she's really spoiled. Sleeps in my bed and takes up the majority of it," he said with a laugh. When she commented that he didn't look so bad himself he lifted one shoulder in a shrugging motion. And then he found himself being suddenly dragged out onto the dance floor when he'd gone to reach for another mug of ale. Damn. Now he not only had to pretend to not be attracted to the woman, but he had to do it while dancing to her. And it wasn't like he could put any real kind of distance between them while they danced. Even if he could manage to hold her at arm's length while dancing with her, it really wasn't enough space for his comfort right now. It was all he could do to repress a groan as he was forced into dancing with her. Not that he would have minded it if he hadn't been previously busy trying to drink enough that he could actually stand being in her presence without giving in to his urge to kiss her. The drinking had been more about keeping his hands and lips busy with something else than actually drinking.

Aeden had wandered closer to the doors, apparently a little too close when the door swung open and smashed into him. A foul curse fell from his lips and he clutched at his face; where the door had caused him the most pain. Thank the gods his nose wasn't even bloody, never mind broken, but jesus that fucking hurt. And then he was assaulted by the apology of what appeared to be a tiny little child and he blinked down at her. What the hell was a kid that young doing at the masquerade? She couldn't be older than like..10..if that? "It's okay," he said with a faint smile as he reached down to pat her awkwardly on the head. "Accidents happen. I shouldn't have walked so close to the doors," he said with a grunt. "Though, in my defense I thought everyone was here by now. And definitely was not expecting the doors to come swinging open," he said with a half laugh. He hoped the poor little girl wasn't too upset by the fact that she'd hit him with the door, and by the time he was finished accepting her apology, his face felt more normal.

He laughed at her comment about calling her Ina and then realizing that she'd screwed up. He shook his head and took her by the hand to lead her out to the dance floor. He placed one hand on her back, though it was up further than it would have been had there not been such a huge height difference between the two of them. "Well, Freckles," he said, his tone teasing. "'tis a pleasure to meet ye," he said with a grin as he guided her around the dance floor to the rhythm of the music. After only a few moments of spinning her about the floor he noticed that his father had moved to dance near some woman that he didn't recognize. And two seconds after that the two men he'd pegged as easterner's were storming across the dance floor. He literally stopped in the middle of dancing with her to watch the scene unfold. One man tapped Duncan on the shoulder while the other let his fist fly into Tadgh's father's face. And he couldn't help the excitement that jumped inside of him. He tossed his head back and let out a roar of laughter at the sight of his father's nose being crushed and him falling to the ground. "Apologies, Freckles, bu' I believe I jus' fell in love with yer family," he said with a grin to the tiny girl.
