Morgan Coughlan
She'd smiled faintly when Abi had said that she'd always love her. It wasn't that she didn't believe that the woman loved her, but just that she was afraid of what might happen when Abi found out what she had done. "Of course I know that," she'd said softly when Abi had taken her hand and walked beside her down to the court yard. She'd watched silently as Abi had lifted herself up into the saddle, and had to bite back a smile. For all her insecurities, Abi did occasionally like to be her own person, and it was things like that that just further endeared her to the queen. She'd taken up the reins to her own horse and turned the mare towards the forest, one of her personal favorite places to ride, leading the procession out onto the path. Once they were out of sight of the palace, her shoulders relaxed and she turned from the rigid queen into the soft and smiling woman that she only was with Abi and the few other people she trusted. Before her husband she'd been that woman around everyone, always smiling and relaxed. But when she was married to the man who treated her the way he had, she'd changed, at least outwardly towards people who didn't know her or have her trust.

Abaigael would follow obediently after her Queen, holding the reins with one hand while she stroked along her mare's neck with the other. She knew that the creature was gentle and kind, and almost completely desensitized; she doubted that Morgan would knowingly allow her to ride a horse that fit any other description. Sometimes she loved the woman for it, but other times she really wished that she wouldn't worry so much- she honestly felt like she was going to be the cause of a heart attack or something one day. It didn't help to talk to the Queen about it, either. She just got kinda crabby...though she knew that crabby was an overstatement; she had never even heard the Queen raise her voice in anger towards her, nor had she ever actually been mean to her.
When they passed the trees she would guide her mount to move along beside the Queen's, letting her gaze shift to rest on the woman. Once again she marveled at how different she was when she wasn't surrounded by other people. The transformation was absolutely amazing. As she looked at Morgan her silver eyes would snag on something moving just to the right, and she would absolutely beam upon catching sight of a butterfly, "Love, look," she'd murmur, lifting her hand from her horse's neck in order to gesture towards the flying insect. She found them absolutely marvelous and couldn't help but direct Morgan's attention towards the creatures when she found them. She briefly wondered if the Queen found it annoying; her constantly capturing her attention to show her trivial things like butterflies and bunnies, but she would let the though slip from her mind- if the Queen was ever discontent with her behavior she was positive that she would tell her.

A smile curved her lips when Abi pointed out the butterfly and even her eyes seemed to relax. The fact that Abi found things such as butterflies to be worth pointing out was one of the things that she honestly loved about the woman. It showed that there was an innocence and sweetness to the woman that could still shine through despite what she'd been through. So, no, needless to say, Morgan never got annoyed when Abaigael pointed out the beautiful creatures of nature. "I see," she said softly in response. They rode on in silence for a few moments before Morgan's gaze landed on something and she drew her horse to a quiet halt. Her hand automatically raised as a sign for the other's to halt, and she pointed down the path a ways to where a doe stood with a fawn by her side. "Look there, Abi," she whispered softly to the other woman. One of the reasons she loved riding in this forest was because of things like this. Nature was so overly abundant that seeing these kinds of things was almost a regular thing when someone found themselves in this forest. Not to mention the fact that the forest itself was absolutely gorgeous.

Abaigael would draw her mount to a halt when she caught site of Morgan doing the same, her silver gaze flicking curiously over to her beloved as she wondered if there was something wrong. Though, when the Queen gestured in front of them she would immediately look forward, the sight forcing a broad grin onto her face, "Oh my..." she whispers, leaning forward a bit on her horse in order to get a better view of the two creatures. Her silver eyes were wide, like twin moons set into her face as she gazed at nature's present, her dark hair falling forward to frame her face.. The sight was absolutely priceless; two absolutely beautiful creatures in one of the best poses she had ever seen- worthy of a painting. But it only lasted for a moment, because before she could truly appreciate the scene an arrow came whizzing through the air, spearing the doe through the eye. Before the mother could even fall another arrow sailed towards the duo, this time catching the fawn.
A shriek flew from her lips before she could contain herself, and she lurched back in her saddle, sitting upright as she grasps tightly at the reigns. That was the first mistake she made, as when she lurched back she used her legs for balance, which in turn motivated her horse to move forward at a much quicker pace than she was used to. She would yank back on the reins when she realized what was happening, though it was a little too late as by then she had reached the bloody carcasses of the two creatures. When she'd thought earlier that her horse was almost completely desensitized she was completely wrong, as it seemed that it was afraid of blood or deer or something, because when she reached the carcasses her mare pretty much freaked out; rearing before bolting. Fortunately, when the horse reared she found herself flying out of the saddle because while it may have potentially hurt less, she definitely didn't want to go galloping with a scared horse.

Her heart leaped in her chest as she heard Abi's shriek, and then the reason for it entered her vision as she saw the doe and fawn fall to the ground taken down by arrows. She reacted purely on instinct, however, when Abaigael's horse bolted and she urged her own mount forward, making it to the downed deer just as Abi's horse made her fall out of the saddle. Her mare wasn't quite as bothered by the sight of the deer or blood as the younger horse had been, and so she reacted only by prancing in place. Morgan placed a gentle hand on her mare's neck and whispered softly to her as she quickly dismounted and moved to Abi's side. Her arms immediately wrapped around the smaller woman and she found herself checking all over for any signs of injury. "Abi," she said, her voice holding a hint of panic to it. "Please tell me you're okay, love," she whispered, her voice catching as tears welled up in her eyes. She should be furious over what had happened, but at the moment she was too busy checking on the woman she loved to worry about being furious at the hunters. Her escorts, however, had something else in mind. She could hear the men in the background yelling at whomever had released the arrows, especially because they had been so close to the queen. Her hands trembled from the panic that she was experiencing, but she tried to hide it.

Before she could fully comprehend what had happened Morgan was there, wrapping her arms around her and sounding more panicked than Abaigael felt. She would blink, actually a bit stunned. She shifted a bit in her love's embrace, wrapping her arms around her neck and simply hugging her in silence for a few moments, ignoring her questions for the time being in order to try to comfort both herself and Morgan. If there was anything good about what the King had done to her, it was that now she had a pretty high tolerance for pain, so when she finally answered the Queen's question she wouldn't worry her any more than she needed to. "Shh, I'm okay," she murmurs softly, ignoring the pain in her wrist as she shifted her hand to gently brush it through Morgan's hair. "I'm alright, I promise," she murmurs softly, though she was kind of trying to ignore her own body at the moment. She didn't want to evaluate herself for fear that she would find something wrong, so instead she focused on Morgan. "Turns out, my mare doesn't like dead things," she'd whisper in her ear, forcing her voice to come out light and playful. "And, she likes to gallop more than I thought she did," she'd continue, trying to think of other things to say that would help her calm down. "Just when you think you know an animal..." she'd joke lightly.

Panic and distress danced in her gaze, but she took the moment to just hold Abi and try to force herself to calm down. "You," she started and let out a half laugh that was more stress than anything else. "You scared the crap out of me," she admitted with a deep frown. She shook her head at Abi's words about the mare and heaved a deep sigh. "This settles it. You're riding my mare from now on," she said sternly. It wasn't because she doubted Abi's ability to ride. Had the woman wanted to go for that sort of ride, she was sure that she could have stayed on the horse. No, this was about the fact that Abaigael O'Hara was about to give the queen a panic attack that she surely might never recover from. "I know you're going to object," she whispered, softly lifting a hand to press a finger to the woman's lips. "But at least do me the favor of riding her back when we can make sure that you're uninjured and able to ride. I don't want to feel that kind of panic again so soon," she said on a soft sigh. "If something had happened to you, Abi," she whispered softly and choked on tears that welled up in her eyes at the mere thought of something serious having happened.

Abaigael frowns at the Queen's words, her laughter and words serving to make her feel more guilty than she had her entire life, "I'm sorry," she murmurs with a frown, her brows furrowing as she gazes at the woman. When her words only served to get her banned from riding her horse she would stare at the woman incredulously, starting to open her mouth to refuse, only to feel the Queen's fingers against her lips and hear her plea. She instantly knew she was putty in the woman's hands; she couldn't resist such a heartfelt request, and besides she would never purposefully put stress on Morgan, and she knew that not complying would likely give her a heart attack. When she spoke again she felt her chest seize, instantly shifting to wrap Morgan in a tight hug. "I know, I'm so sorry," she whispers softly to her, though her tone sounded rather agonized. She would lift a hand to gently brush over her beloved's cheek as she wipes away the tears that had fallen there, letting her thumb brush lightly over her cheek bone. "I'll ride your mare back," she assures the woman, as if that was what was bothering her. "And in the future I promise I will keep a better hand on my horse," she whispers, letting the hand that was wrapped around the Queen gently brush over her back in a soothing manner.
After a minute or so she would shift to smile slightly at the woman, "Come now, let's not let this ruin your day," she murmurs, leaning in to gently kiss her forehead before carefully climbing to her feet, closing her eyes tightly at the soreness that had gathered in her legs, though honestly it was nowhere near as bad as the pain she felt in her wrist. She wouldn't mention either ache though, and would merely reach a hand down to help her beloved to her feet. She felt like a complete idiot for what had happened, and even worse that they had only been out riding for a little while and that it had been something that Morgan had surely wanted to do for several hours, not several minutes.

Relief flashed across her face and she held Abi tightly for as long as the other woman would allow her to do so. "Oh, love," she whispered softly. "It's alright, I promise. I don't blame you, I was just scared," she said on a soft sigh as she showered kissed on top of Abaigael's head. Her eyes flashed with emotion when, despite the fact that she couldn't be in a very comfortable state at the moment, Abi did her best to soothe her. She stood when Abi did, and clasped her hand gently, pulling it to hold against her chest for a moment before she lifted it to kiss her knuckles softly and then scooped the woman up into her arms. She might not be much larger than Abaigael was, but she could lift her easily enough, and she did so, despite any protest that the woman might offer. With the help of one of the escorts she got Abi safely into her own mare's saddle and then she mounted the horse behind her, her arms circling her waist loosely so as to not be too constraining. "Let's get you back and we'll get a nice bath drawn up for you and have someone tend to whatever cuts and bruises you might have. I know you couldn't have made it through a fall like that without at least some sort of scrape," she said softly as she turned the mare around. Her anger with the hunter, whomever it had been, was completely lost in her doting on Abi. Besides, whoever it was was likely to be properly chastised and what not by the men who had escorted her. One of them was a knight and the other was a Duke in his own right, so they could handle such things between the two of them. She was more interested in seeing that Abi was comfortable and taken care of after a fall like that.

Abaigael couldn't help but wince when the Queen grasped her hand and pulled it against her chest, irritating her wrist in the process. It was a very sweet gesture, though, so she would ignore the pain and simply smile at her beloved, letting out a soft sigh when she brings her hand up to kiss her knuckles. She was just about to say something when the Queen suddenly scooped her up causing her to gasp and wrap her arms tightly around her neck, "What do you think you're doing?" she would whisper, though her tone was almost violent. "I can mount a horse by myself," she would continue, though it didn't help at all as one of the Queen's escorts rushed over to help get her up into the saddle. She would sigh and shake her head, though when the Queen mounted up as well she would lean gently back against her, wanting to be held more than she wanted to be upset at Morgan for treating her like a baby.
When she spoke to her about getting her back and taken care of she would smile slightly, "That sounds nice," she murmurs, placing her hand on the other woman's arm and gently brushing her fingers over her skin as she directed the horse back towards the courtyard. "I'm sorry about the ride...I wish we could have continued," she says, frowning as she turns her head to look at the Queen for a moment. She knew that the Queen wasn't angry with her, but she also knew that she was bound to be annoyed by the situation in general. "You know we could continue if you want to, right?" she would ask, her brows furrowing slightly

Yeah, she'd pretty much ignored the little bit of indignation that Abi had saw fit to show when she'd scooped her up. "After the heart attack that you just gave me, you're going to have to suffer through a little bit of being treated like an injured lady, even if you didn't get harmed too badly," she informed her. Her tone was a combination of queenly and worried lover. She didn't like to have the queenly tone in her voice when speaking to Abi, but sometimes it kind of slipped in there without her willing it to. Her eyes widened when Abi apologized for their ride being cut short and said that they didn't have to end it. "Oh, love. You must think I'm mad at you. I'm not," she assured her softly as she pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I know that you would gladly continue riding with me if I wanted you to, but I'm more interested in seeing that you get the treatment that you deserve. I've fallen off horses that bolted before, and I know it's not a comfortable thing to have happen," she said with a soft smile. "We can continue our ride at some other point. For now we're taking you back to the castle, getting you a nice bath, and treating you to whatever you'd like," she said warmly. She liked to spoil Abi as much as she could, and especially wanted to lavish her with gifts and attention after the emotional start to the day and then falling off that silly horse to boot.

Abaigael sighs softly as she kisses the top of her head and assured her that she wasn't mad at her, "I know but...I know that you wanted to go riding today..." she would say, though she knew it was futile. Once Morgan had something in her head she wouldn't let anything change her mind. She loved the woman for it at times, but other times she wished that she was so stubborn. When she commented that they would treat her to anything she wanted she would grin, wondering if she should request to go riding again. She had a feeling if she really wanted to go that Morgan would let her, but then she figured that the Queen would be too busy panicking to have much fun so she figured it wasn't a very good idea. She also knew that the Queen didn't mean that she would be treated to some sort of activity; she knew that the woman liked to spoil her with gifts and such, despite the fact that Morgan knew that she would rather not have her waste so much. Not that she didn't truly enjoy her gifts and such, she just felt that the woman had already given her enough.
She would remain quiet the rest of the ride, forcing herself to stop thinking and just enjoy her time with her love. When they reached the courtyard and came to a halt she would quickly slide out of the saddle before somebody, namely Morgan, could try to help her. It's not that she didn't appreciate it, she just wanted to prove to the woman that she was capable of doing it by herself, even if she had just fallen off of a horse. After she was off of the horse she would take a few steps away from the animal, unconsciously rubbing her injured wrist with her other hand as she lets her gaze roam around the courtyard for a moment. She wondered if they might be able to go for a walk or something later, she would suggest now but she knew that Morgan was hellbent on getting her to her chambers and taken care of and whatnot.
