NPC - Bishop Brady
The bishop stood before the gathered crowd. A large number of people sat in the palace gardens to witness the wedding of the queen and her maid of honor. Honestly, the bishop wasn't overly thrilled to be marrying two women, but he wasn't really in the position to argue with the queen, either. So rather than anger the woman by trying to point out anything that he saw as "wrong" with this union, he'd agreed to be a relatively silent party and sign their marriage certificate. He cleared his throat and waited for silence to descend on the crowd. "We are gathered here today to witness the union of Queen Morgan Coughlan and Lady Abaigael O'Hara. Lady O'Hara will be coronated as the second Queen at the end of this ceremony. The Queen and Lady O'Hara have chosen to write their own vows, and would like to speak them now," he announced to the crowd.

Morgan stood facing Abi, her lips twitching in a nervous smile. It wasn't that she was afraid of marrying her. No. It was that she wasn't great with this whole standing in front of a crowd and pouring her heart out thing. She wore a softly flowing, off white dress. In her hands she held a bouquet of the blue flowers that Abi loved so much. She listened in silence while the Bishop spoke to the crowd. She knew the man didn't approve of this marriage, but at least he was smart enough not to argue with her over it. At least that much she could give him credit for. When he said that they had written their own vows and wished to speak them now she took a deep breath and stepped closer to Abi, letting the bouquet drop to one hand and that hand drop to her side. She reached out with her free hand and clasped one of Abi's hands in her own. Then she looked deep into the other woman's eyes and smiled. If not for this she probably wouldn't have been able to get through this ceremony. "Abi," she said, addressing the woman with her pet name for her. This was the time to speak of love, and she only used the other woman's full name when she was irritated or upset with her; which was rare. "When you first came to court to be my maid of honor, I saw a pretty, young woman who caught my attention immediately. As the days and weeks went by I found myself thinking of you constantly. But when I finally drummed up the courage to make a move on you, you spurned my advances. To be honest, I think that only made me want you more," she said with a soft laugh. "And so I continued to chase after you, until you finally gave in. And that is when I fell utterly and hopelessly in love with you. I didn't expect to, but somehow the gorgeous young woman before me now stole my heart without me realizing it at first," she said with a smile. "And now, I stand before any higher power, several different kingdoms, and a bishop to proclaim my love for you. To tell you that I will honor, cherish, protect, and nurture you. That I will stand by your side through sickness and health, through the good times and the bad, and do everything in my power to never leave you wanting for more."

Abaigael gave a soft smile when the bishop stated that they had written their own vows, watching as her beloved took the bouquet in one hand instead of handing it off to the lady in waiting, Casidhe, behind her. It was actually rather sweet, though; she seemed almost too nervous to remember. She was actually kind of surprised; here was the Queen of the Southern kingdom, who held court and spoke in front of large groups of people all the time, seemingly nervous about the same thing that she had done almost every day for years, yet Abaigael, who'd never spoken in front of a group of people before in her life, was more calm than she had ever been before. When the woman stepped forward to take her hand she would hold her own bouquet back for Alana to take, before moving her hand to gently lay it on top of Morgan's. As the woman spoke she would peer lovingly back into her eyes, her smile widening with every word that the woman spoke. After she finished she would absolutely beam at the woman, tempted to lean forward and kiss her but knowing it wasn't quite time. She knew that she was supposed to speak now, but everything that she had planned to say was forgotten, though she figured that whatever she had rehearsed wouldn't have sounded natural anyways, and would thus draw in a deep breath and hope that she wouldn't sound like a complete idiot as she spoke. "Morgan," she would start, lifting her hand to gently cup the other woman's cheek, "I love you more than I think could ever be expressed through words, but I figure I ought to give it a try," she would say with a laugh, suddenly just a tad nervous. "You speak about the time before I accepted your advances as if I couldn't care less about you, as if you were dust beneath my shoes that I couldn't seem to get rid of. But you have to know that even before I agreed you were so much more than that. While I didn't really want to admit it, I loved you before I had even said two words to you. You were the light in an incredibly dark place for me, and I suppose that I just didn't want to snuff out that light by allowing things to go elsewhere. But, eventually I realized that the only way that your light would disappear was if I forced you to go away, and I just couldn't let that happen. And I have to admit that I am so glad that I didn't, because now you're so much more than the light of my life, you're every single thing that my entire world revolves around," she would admit, her cheeks darkening a bit with a faint blush. "So, I stand here in front of the only person that matters in my life, to tell her that I would do absolutely anything to make her happy. That I will stay at her side through anything that may come our way and that I will love her more with every passing day," she would finish, grinning almost stupidly at the other woman.

NPC - Bishop Brady
He remained silent as the two women exchanged their vows. Despite everything that he had against this marriage, he couldn't help but smile at their words. It was obvious to him that these two women were utterly in love with one another. At least there was that. When they finished speaking he stepped forward with a length of ribbon and wrapped it around their clasped hands, allowing them to exchange rings afterwards. "I now pronounce you lawfully wedded," he announced afterwards.
And then they knelt before him (because their hands are wrapped together.) And he coronated Abaigael O'Hara as the second queen of the kingdom.
And I'm being lazy. Time skip to the masquerade later that evening.
