General Behavior: Esras is definitely the 'golden boy' of the kingdom. Injustice does not sit well with him, and he isn't the type to sit idly by while something 'wrong' happens in front of him. That being said, he's a very humble lad who doesn't actually realize all the good that he does. To him it's not about doing what's good; it's about doing what's right. He's as quick to stand up for an animal that's being mistreated as he is a human, and that's part of what makes him the 'golden boy'. He takes his training very seriously, and while he'll flirt with the ladies as much as any boy his age, that's as far as he's willing to take it. While he enjoys things other than being a knight, he focuses the majority of his attention on his studies and his training; else he never would have been knighted at his young age.

Esras was born 10 years after the Earl and Countess of Canterbur's daughter; and his older sister, to parents who thought they would never have a boy. The two had believed that Adelaide would be their only child and had spent most of her ten years preparing her to eventually inherit their lands and titles. However when Esras was born, everything changed. It wasn't that they loved the boy more than their daughter, but they were of the firm belief that leaving a male as their heir was a better idea than leaving a girl as such. Needless to say, this didn't sit well with the young girl who'd spent most of her life studying and being trained to take over as the Earl (not Countess, because countess is the title of someone that's married to an Earl) of Canterbur. Adelaide's jealousy reached extreme levels when, not long before Esras's fourth birthday she flung a knife at the boy in one of her fits of rage towards him. It left him with the well known scar across his cheekbone, and got her into a lot of trouble.
When he reached seven years of age his uncle, Aeden McCoy, insisted that he begin training as a page. When he reached the years that he was old enough to train as a squire, Aeden personally took over his training. It was because of his uncle, and because of his own dedication, that he was knighted at the tender young age of 18, when most squires had to wait until their 21st birthday to be knighted. Due to his knightship he spends more time at court than he would like, but at least he does not have to spend too much time around the ladies of the court if he does not want to.
