Ranait O'Halloran
Renny sat in the queen's chambers, humming softly to herself as she worked on stitching her latest project; some shirt or another for the poor. Which was rather ironic, because if not for her family she could be considered poor herself. She, like most women, had no personal wealth or titles. She was simply a lady-in-waiting to the queen and a daughter of the Marquess and Marchioness of Sunil, nothing more. On some levels it bothered her that she would always be a nobody in her own right, but she tried not to let that sort of thing interfere with her every day life. Honestly, she was rather lucky if she thought about it carefully. She held the queen's favor and was allowed a lot more liberties than the other girls because of it. Of course, that didn't stop her from dreaming about the possibility of having a life of her own some day. It did, however, make life a little bit easier to bear.
A sigh drifted from the young woman's lips as she pulled herself back to reality and focused on the task at hand. Sewing was probably one of her least favorite tasks, but she did it because the queen asked it of her. Well, really, she did it because she didn't want to risk displeasing the queen and being sent away from court. Not that she liked court, but if she was sent away from court she would never hear the end of it from her parents. Since there was no telling what they might do to/with her if she got sent away from court, she figured her best bet was to make sure that sort of thing never happened. With a shake of her head she began her soft humming once again as she finished the shirt that she'd been sewing and moved on to sew another.

Esras had been invited to the Queen's sitting room to do his studying with her Lady-in-waiting, and was thus standing outside the door to her chambers, shuffling nervously from foot to foot as he tries to rearrange the items he was carrying so that he could knock on the door. He was almost positive that somebody from inside would open the door before he got the chance to knock, and he would be the punchline to every joke for the next several days, and that only made him more nervous. He was holding a thick book of Irish history in one hand, while allowing a yellow songbird to perch on his other hand. It was something of a pet to him, and he hated leaving it locked in a cage when he could help it, so it came with him today, though he was starting to regret his decision. Before he could embarrass himself any farther he would encourage the tiny bird onto his shoulder, offering it a short whistle to mimic to keep it happy. He'd then brace himself before rapping lightly upon the door and taking a small step back. When it opened he would plaster a broad grin onto his face, "Esras Kavanagh, here upon the Queen's invitation," he introduces himself.

Ranait O'Halloran
She glanced up from her sewing when a knock sounded on the door. A small frown curved her lips downward, but she said nothing as she set aside her project and stood up to go answer the door. She strode across the room, though it looked rather more like she was gliding, and opened the door. When she saw the man on the other side, though he couldn't have been much older than she, her eyes went wide and a soft red blush settled onto her cheeks. She quickly cast her eyes downward, then dipped a small curtsy to the man on the other side of the door when he introduced himself and said the queen had invited him. "Oh," she said as she stepped back and held the door open for him. "Do come in then, Lord Kavanagh," she said in a small voice. Fortunately she'd heard enough of the young man to know that he was a knight and would bear the title of lord. Her head dropped and she moved away from the door, almost scurrying back to her seat and the shirt that she'd been sewing. She wasn't exactly the most articulate when it came to meeting new people, and especially when it was a man that she found to be handsome.

She moved abruptly into the room looking at the ground for a second of thought. Looking up Ranait had invited Moira's guest in. When Ranait blushed something inside Moira sparked and she gave the two a smile. Nodding her head in respect, though not so much anything giant for the two. "Lord Kavanagh.. This is my lady in waiting." She'd gesture to Renny as she didn't introduce herself. "Ranait O'Halloran. She has been given my favour and I would like you to study with her." She paused. "As I had said in my invite."
She opened another door and smiled. "Please have use of my library there's some desks inside." She was excited to have these rooms filled. Being as her King never asked her for her attention. She of course walked in before they did so they didn't feel odd walking past the Queen. When inside she would sit by a couch and open up a new book she had gotten. The library was wall to wall in books and there were many comfortable sitting areas and desks. It was almost bigger then the library deep in the palace but less crowded by the stinking clergy. It kept Moira silent and that's why Cihar got them to make her a library.

Esras nods lightly to the lady that had opened the door for him, stepping quietly inside the room. As he entered his gaze remained on the pretty young woman, green eyes sparkling with interest, "Thank you," he'd murmur, his grin broadening when he noticed that her cheeks were rather red. He was opening his mouth to speak again when another woman entered the room, and set about making introductions. He'd smile kindly to her and offer a gentlemanly bow, figuring that this must be the Queen herself. "I am very appreciative of your invitation, Your Highness," he'd say, though he let his gaze drift away from the woman and to her lady-in-waiting, "And it's certainly a pleasure to meet your highly renowned lady-in-waiting." It seemed that the woman didn't hear him though, as she commented about them using her library and then went to sit in there herself. When he noticed she was in the next room though, he would stride over to Ranait, reaching up to collect his bird in the palm of his hand as he sets his book on a table, "I brought a book of my own but you seem content with sewing, so I kind of figured I'd sit in here and we'd keep you company," he'd murmur, his gaze shifting to the bird in his hand. He'd whistle softly and sweetly to the yellow creature, smiling as it repeated the tune and chirped a few extra notes to go along with it. Honestly, he wasn't sure if he was all that thrilled about keeping Ranait company, as he found that his sister had ingrained a deep distaste for Ladies of the Court within him, but he so did love to flirt. And this Lady of the Court was rather pretty, and not at all talkative like the others that he had met. Also, the Queen liked her so she must not be all that bad, right?

Ranait O'Halloran
She hadn't really realized that the queen had invited the lord to study with her, so when the queen made her introduction for her and stated that she'd invited the young man to study with her the blush on her cheeks deepened. "Oh," she said faintly. "Um. I'm sorry, m'lady," she said softly to the queen when she realized her mistake in not introducing herself. She dipped a low curtsy to the queen and then was forced to return her attention to the knight when the queen disappeared into her library. When Esras spoke again her blush darkened another shade of red, if that was possible, and she diverted her gaze to anywhere but the young man. "Um. I..kind of forgot that the queen said I was supposed to be expecting someone," she admitted a bit sheepishly.
Her gaze darted back to the young man when he brought a little bird down from his shoulder and she dipped her head a bit lower. "Er. Maybe we should join the queen," she said faintly before turning and darting across the room to the library. She ducked into the room and bit her lower lip, working it between her front teeth for a moment before letting out a breath and releasing her lip. For some reason she was having to fight the urge to hide. It wasn't like her to be this nervous over a new person, but he was definitely an attractive young man, and she was certain that his attractiveness had something to do with her nerves. Taking a deep breath she straightened her shoulders and forced herself to be a bit more lady-like. She moved along the shelves of books until she found something that caught her attention and pulled the book down.
Turning on her heel she moved purposely to a table that would have been clearly visible from the door between the queen's library and her sitting room. She dropped her head to the book for a moment, then lifted it to find the young man still within the queen's sitting room. "Are you going to come study?" she asked with a perfectly innocent look about her. Of course, that innocent look was something that seemed to be permanently plastered to her face, so it wasn't like she could just change that.

"You're welcome for the invite." She'd watch as the knight insisted that he had taken pleasure in meeting Renny. This kind of made the Queen smile sweetly at them both. Possibly seeing a spark between them? Or that was just Esras' flirtatious nature. She didn't mind really if they took a use to her library or not, she sat there pleasantly. Flipping through the pages of her book until she heard some sort of speaking and Renny came hustling in. The Queen glanced up to see her young lady in waiting blushing up a storm. Calmly though she watched Renny go from shy to secure the moment she caught a book and well the rows.
She gathered Esras had said something to make her shy, and she'd chuckle to herself under the thought. Moira went back to reading just for the time being until Renny made an inquiry to the knight about coming in and studying in the Library. This was much like her lady-in-waiting. The Queen looked to Renny and then towards Esras. "Is there something you'd like me to get a servant to do for you Lord Kavanagh?" The Queen asked kindly. She was very calm in how she spoke. Not at all like her Ladies that resided in the court. It was funny how she was opposite of her husband. But in the end not so funny as they hadn't worked out in any fashion. Her eyes levitated over her book though, like she truly wished to get back to reading but she didn't want to be rude. Even if she was the Queen.

Esras frowns slightly at Ranait's reaction, tipping his head slightly to the side as he quietly watches her rush out of the room, having said that they should join the queen. He wondered what he might have done wrong, though he couldn't think of anything. Maybe he smelled weird or something? His gaze would drop from the entrance to the library and down to himself, flicking over what he thought to be his best clothing and down to his pristine boots, trying to figure out if there was something wrong with him. Maybe the blushing hadn't been nerves; maybe she'd been holding back laughter? He would swallow thickly as he glances back up towards the entrance to the library, just in time to catch sight of the young woman sitting down at a table. He grimaced slightly, wondering if he should excuse himself when he heard first her speak, and then the Queen. He had to stifle back a low sigh before he snatched up his book and stepped forward, "No, not at all, Your Highness," he murmurs quietly, "I was simply admiring your home, I have never seen anything so grand, and to be honest your library is rather intimidating," he'd say with a gentle bout of laughter, shifting his weight from foot to foot as he addresses the Queen. After speaking to the Queen he would move over to the table that her lady-in-waiting was seated at, rather nervously now instead of with the confidence that he had approached her with earlier. He would set his book lightly down on the table, allowing his his bird to flit down to the cover as he lets his green gaze dance across the table top before eventually roaming to Ranait, "So, what are you studying, m'lady?" he would ask, his voice kind though he could feel a warmth gathering in his cheeks. He wondered if the lady thought that he was idiot, though he would force those thoughts from his head, knowing that they weren't helping at all.
