Anna would lead the way to "The Glass Unicorn," a tavern in the Capital that she had decided to take Enda to. She had been there once before and had liked it. She had heard that it was named for the owner's daughter as the little girl loved unicorns, though the little girl was probably a grown woman with children of her own by now as long as this place had been open. "ACH! No, er, wait. Not exactly?" Anna would respond to his question of her sparring in a bath. "I meant that I had sparred with a lot of others prior to returning." Her cheeks would be a bit flushed and she would not look at him. "Though... I did get drunk," she grumbled a little, "an' I do nae remember a lot of it. I do remember that I was in the bath an' next I knew I was attackin' m' friend." She shrugged, "I feel a bit o' a dummy about it, so.. jus' between you an I, okay? I dinna even talk about it after.Too awkward. Poor guy jus' lost his wife four months ago an' then I try to cut his head off." She winces, thinking it sounds so much worse out loud telling Enda about it then just having remembered part of it. "I am done with gettin' drunk. Let the knights make fools o' themselves." She would sigh softly, then glance to Enda as they made their way inside. As much as she felt like an ass for her drunken behavior, it would really suck if he changed his opinion of her. He was probably the one person she trusted completely since her father's passing. She was watching him now to make sure that he did not have a problem with the unfamiliar location, and she was also shifting about as she gauged the dangers.
If Enda let her, she would wrap her arm around his free one, to give the impression that he was the one leading her around as they were brought to a table inside the tavern. If he had let her, she would let go of his arm after putting it on a chair at the table. She would then sit across from him, keeping her back to the wall so that she could use her eyes to survey the area. She would tilt her head slightly, letting her gaze return to Enda.. "Bloody hell. I have no use for that man," she was referring to the King, but not saying his name due to the fact that they were out and about. Enda would know whom she meant though. "I would ask what he is thinkin', but I very much doubt he is thinkin' at all." She put one hand on her forehead and shook her head slightly, closing her eyes briefly for a moment. She dropped her hand and opened her eyes again and pursed her lips briefly. "Can ye talk sense to him, Enda? How are we..." she just shakes her head. Luckily it would be a few moments after she paused a waitress would come up to them.

When she corrected herself in the sentence about sparring with others before returning he actually sighed and ran his hand through his hair. That wasn't really what he thought she was meaning when she said something about sparring and bathing. So it made him relax a bit more. Though hearing about her getting drunk made him shake his head. "Getting drunk for me is a bad idea. I need to be sitting. I forget I can't watch where I step." He hadn't been in years now. The last time had been when the war had been won. "Well I hope no harm came to you. I may have to rough up some people." He said. Partially joking. But only partially.
He of course let her wrap her arm around his. He actually let himself smile when he felt her touch, it was something that never made him flinch really. Once he felt his hand hit the back of the chair he moved to sit. Giving her a thankful facial reaction, or what seemed like a thankful one to him anyhow. Once she requested if he could change the King's mind he shook his head. "Ye said it yeself Anna. The man really doesn't think at all. The prospective of new land and the possible bargain of getting all of Ireland just as a plot of land under Scotland or England is what is tasty to the daft man." When he heard/smelled the waitress come up he gazed up like he could see and he'd say. "I'll have what the lady is." He'd smile. It was for a moment like he could actually see.

Anna watched curiously as Enda ran a hand through his hair, trying to determine his emotion behind it. "Ye are nae missin' much. I do nae like how it feels," she grimaced, remembering. Then he threatened to roughen up anyone if they had harmed her and it brought her fierce grin to the surface. A chuckle escaped her lips, touched that he would offer, and she knew that even though he could not see, he could take on anyone. "Thanks Enda, that is sweet of ye. Though I am alright, nothin' I can nae handle, just a few bruises." She did not realize how serious he might be about it. Which is odd, because the last time he had been hurt she had gone completely crazy and beaten the crap out of the page that had knocked Enda into the rocks that caused his blindness. Which she had been soundly punished for.
Anna could not keep the smile off of her face at Enda's thankful expression. It had not cost her anything at all to lead him to the chair and act as though he had been leading her. It had actually helped her to relax a little. Enda reminded her to be thankful for what she did have, the little things, though he might not realize that he did that for her. Anna would settle her gaze upon the waitress and orders the special: Chicken and potatoes. "I will also have water," she requested, as she was not in the mood for alcohol. Once the waitress left, Anna would sigh softly. "At this rate, Enda, I think I might not come back from leave. At this rate, there will nae be anythin' to come back to," she complained grumpily, thinking the king was a complete idiot and not worth his weight in anything. "Goin' t' be difficult t' fight against yer brothers," she would say softly with a shake of her head. She loved a good fight, for sure, but the against other Irish? It just did not seem right.

He could almost feel her watching his every move and it kind of amused him somewhat. He didn't know why. But it was nice to know at least someone had been watching him. He couldn't really do it. It did sadden him a tad bit that he didn't really know what she looked like aside from the few times he'd touch her cheek. But he would think about her face before when she was a page. "Not much of a fan m'self Anna, so I can only agree." He'd chuckle at his friend for once.
Enda shifted in the chair a bit feeling watched but that was obvious that he was being watched. When ordered Enda chuckled a bit. "I knew ye were going to order that. Ye always do." He insisted and smiled. "Well. I mean. When ye take me out to supper ye always do order the same thing. I wouldn't know about other times." Upon her sigh and comment he gave her an unhappy facial expression. "As much as the dolt is an asshole, and I would choose to run away with ye if I could.." Running wasn't his friend. "Chances are the other Kingdoms are planning something. But if ye don't come back, I'll be disappointed in ye. Also, if you come back you'd be doing me a favour.. Please don't make me beg." He didn't like begging all too much. But he did reach over and take Anna's hand. "Ye've never strike me as the type to back out of a fight."

Anna really had not changed much in appearance since Enda had last seen her, except for the teardrop tattoo beneath her eye. She was really comfortable with Enda, and that was why she was as physical with him as she was. If he ever asked, she would be inclined to let him touch her face, but he probably would not ask and she would not even think of it as she, like most people, took her vision for granted. Though perhaps she was somewhat more aware of it, being that she was friends with Enda, but that did not mean that she knew what it was like or that she could even imagine what that would feel like. She could not help the smile that teased at her lips when he agreed with her. "Ye should always agree with me, it is better that way," she said with a soft chuckle.
Anna smirked and teased, "I order it 'cause I know ye like it jus' as much as I do, an' you tend to copy me. Ha, I do nae know who ye think yer talkin' to, but I rarely go out, unless I am draggin' you somewhere or keepin' m' eye on one of yer knights." She implied they were his knights when they were giving her grief and she had to babysit them. She would tilt her head slightly when he made the offer of running off with her. She very much doubted that, he was born to be the Commander and did a much better job than his father, in her mind. "Ach, Enda, please. Yer the best Commander the West has ever seen," she said a bit heatedly. She did not like to see him look unhappy. She blinked, staring at him. "I would nae be able to tolerate ye bein' disappointed in me," she would murmer softly, feeling the truth behind her words. Though one of her fierce grins teased at her lips, "As much as I would like to see ye beg, I will nae do that to ye." Then she felt his hand take one of hers, and the briefest look of surprise trailed over her features before she hid the expression. Not that he could see it or anything, but she was used to hiding her expressions on a daily basis, and he usually could tell a lot with her anyways, since they had known each other so long. Awkwardly she brushed her thumb against the skin of his hand.
Anna would sigh again, "Where you lead, I follow. Someone has to whip your knights into shape." She tried to keep her tone light, though wasn't sure if she was successful on that count. Particularly since she'd brush her fingers against his hand, as though trying to reassure him. "I am not the type to back down from a fight; more the type to run in without thought." She chuckled at herself, "That is why you lead."

He would actually retort and state that it had been 17 years and she had facially matured. But nonetheless he wasn't having this conversation with her in the end. Sadly, that is. When she said that she should always be agreed with he'd laugh a little. "If I agreed with everything ye said Anna, we would have a very boring friendship."
He didn't really add onto the conversation about the chicken and potatoes. Instead he just smiled a little. "My Knights, you mean the King's." He'd give a hearty chuckle it'd be lying if he didn't agree they acted more like Enda's knights than even their own King's. Enda had many a time walked into the Audience Room and had to control riots due to the fact the old man was an ass and servants and the lower commoners detested the King. Enda would say a word and the Knights were at his feet telling him what was going on and how to help the man ease the situations. There were even times when Risteard had tried to go against Enda's words and had just become servantless and knightless in minutes. But Enda wasn't one for being a King. Being blind and a Commander was one thing, being a King and blind would be another.
When she complimented him he gave her a feint smile. "My father was an alright Commander.." He did smile again and then shift his eyes around for a moment. When she said she would have liked to see him beg, but couldn't tolerate him being disappointed he would 'glance' back at her again. "So ye are just like my Knights" He would tease a little. When his hand laid on her's and he felt her kind of get surprised he'd actually look at her and blink in surprise for a second. Her thumb running against his hands softened his surprise though. Smirking a bit at the feeling of calluses. On insistence on where he lead, she followed he closed his eyes and sighed a little. "Ye were always like that, that's for sure. Surely, I wasn't the best page but I do remember how you were and how you acted. They are good memories of sight." He then winced physically thinking of his injury and her coming after him. He never really told her he saw it; he saw her reaction as his last thing. Letting go of her hand as he heard the Waitress come back with their plates even before she was up beside the table. She set the plates down and Enda thanked her. When she left Enda sighed a little and felt for his fork.

Indeed, it was sad that they were not having that conversation, though perhaps one day they might. One never can tell. Anna would chuckle as well, amusement within her gaze, and her tone. "We could ne'er have a boring friendship," she immediately disagreed. "Though it is probably best that ye do nae agree with me all the time. Someone has to keep me grounded," she said again with a soft chuckle. She basically admitted that she could have a temper and that she did not always think things through, while Enda seemed to balance her in that regard. That was one of the reasons their working relationship worked so well, as well as their friendship.
Anna would roll her eyes, "Nae, I mean your Knights." She had witnessed first hand how the knights would respond to Enda over their King, and she felt much the same way. She was honor bound to defend their King, but her loyalty was to Enda. Luckily no one seemed to have noticed, and perhaps because she always did what was asked of her as she never backed down from anything. Then she grinned again, "Yer secret is safe with me," she said in a teasing tone. She knew that Enda was not trying to be King, but it just went to show how good of a leader he was that honor bound knights would turn to their Commander over their King. She felt a strong sense of pride that he had that effect.
When Enda teased her about being just like one of his Knights she would smile, and it was a softer smile than her usual fierce grin. "Aye," she admitted, "just like yer knights, but better." She quickly glanced around to see whom might be nearby. Once satisfied that she could say what she wanted without repercussions, she would let the pregnant pause hang in the air and then say, "I am yer Captain."
Anna noted that he seemed to blink in surprise at her, though she was not sure why. Was it because she brushed her thumb against his fingers? Should she have not done that? He was the only person that she did not mind getting physically close to. She faintly remembered that she might have hugged Aodh while drunk as he was also becoming a good friend, but she had not touched Aodh's hand like she did Enda's, and not while sober. It was completely different. A true affectionate gesture. Then he smirked and distracted her from her train of thought.
Anna would let a soft laugh escape. "I am glad that memories of m' hot headedness are good ones for you. Especially as I have nae changed all that much. I am surprised I have nae given you any gray hairs, Enda." She noticed that he dropped her hand and winced at nearly the same time, and then her face lined with concern. Though shortly after that is when the waitress showed up. Anna pursed her lips, then murmered her thanks to the waitress as well before starting to eat. She would wait until the waitress had left before very softly inquiring, "Something wrong?"

"Aye and someone has to be my eyes who won't lie to me." He insisted and shrugged. Upon hearing about her keeping his secret he'd smirk definitely. He enjoyed that his eyesight never once made them think twice about listening to his orders or being intimidated by his possible capabilities at battle tactics. Intimidated or for a better word possibly even proud or awed.
When she said she was his Captain he'd smile calmly. "I don't think ye'd let me tame ye like I did the knights, Anna. I may ground ye and ye may not wish me disappointed in ye. But ye are yer own woman." He would say with a high respect to his friend. "So if you consider me yer Commander, and only listen to me really.. Then I respect this." He dipped his head a bit.
"I wouldn't know, I thought I had a whole head full of grays by now. Not even one?" He'd inquire and consider her words. They were intriguing to say the least to him. He wondered if he still had black hair and grey eyes. Or if his pupils would have gone like a human who's pupils were partially there since birth. He considered he still had pupils.
When she asked if something was wrong he actually just let it out. Smirking a little. "It's alright Anna, I forget I wear my emotions on my face at times for those with eyes to see what I am thinking." He'd let his eyes flick down to his food and took a bite. "Sometimes I think about what it was like to see. It has been 17 years, but I still remember what ye looked like, ye were so scared but you were fierce. I don't remember anything else besides that, that day. I remember vague images like ponds or trees.. Horses." He would shrug. "But it's just the one thing that has stuck with me since I went blind. I saw ye and that was it. I am now stuck with darkness so dark it's blank." Enda took another bite. Admitting for the first time that she had been all he remembered really seeing.

Anna would smile as it made her feel really good that he relied on her to be his eyes. If anyone was stupid enough to complain about Enda's lack of eyesight, she would have taken it upon herself to beat them senseless. Not that she has had to do that, but she would. "Aye, we make a good team," she would murmer before taking a bite.
For some strange reason, a faint blush would creep into her cheeks at his words. "Ach, no, never tamed. I prefer to run wild an' free." It was like Enda could see her, without being able to see, and he respected her as she was. Softly, "I do, but.. our secret, okay?" She really did not need Risteard knowing this, because she would most definitely lose her position, even though she had done things for that King that she wished she hadn't. There was too much blood on her hands.
Anna would lean forward, careful to not bump into her food, and reach a hand to touch Enda's cheek and jaw. She let herself be distracted by his question. She was careful to do so after he took his bite of food and finished eating it. She wanted to make sure that he did not have any food near his face, as he could not anticipate her actions. "Hmm," she would say thoughtfully, and if he let her, she would move his face slightly as if checking for gray hairs. "Yer hair is as dark as a starless night, Enda. Not a gray in sight," she said with a smile, amusement within her eyes. She brushed her fingertips against his face, "Looks good," she said with a nod that time, and then let her fingers drop.
Then he confessed what he was thinking about, about what his last vision had been. That she was one of the last things he remembered seeing. She had sworn that she was never going to cry again, not after all the death she had been forced to take part of, not after having lost her adoptive family completely and being left alone in the world. But her eyes filled up with unshed tears just the same. Softly, "That was a bad day, I am sorry. I just.. you were hurt and I lost it. I did nae even think about it, I just reacted. I was seein' red. You were m' first friend an' ye din't care that I was a girl tryin' to be a Page." She blinks back the tears, not telling him that she had been punished for trying to beat the other kid unconscious. "I wish ye had a prettier last sight," she confesses.

He would smile warmly at the idea that the Commander and the Captain were a team. He was comfortable with this accusation as he ate his food.
Smiling a little and put his finger towards his mouth like a 'sh'. "Between ye and I of course." He promised her with a nod. Giving her a small chuckle of his deep vocal. As he went to put his fork in another piece of chicken he felt her hand press against his cheek. He didn't jolt as he trusted her with his life but his eyes forgot that they tended to act like they were useful and just stared ahead at the table. He would be lying if he didn't say her hands against his cheek didn't send some sort of sparks off within. So for a moment he froze. Then smiled widely and let his eyes raise towards her voice. "I have studied my face before. I have a big nose." He would jokingly say. "But it's nice to know you haven't given me greys. Yet." Just a slight blush almost unnoticeable would give way to his cheeks when she let her fingers drop and she said he looked good.
She wasn't left alone, ever. But Enda knew what she felt like. He had felt like it too even though his father was a bad dad, he was still Enda's father. Shaking his head now he put down his utensils and reached over the table to take her hand again, even if it had a fork in it. "Anna. It's fine. It happened, and I have come to accept my losses." Shaking his head and smiling sincerely, it stretched quite far and it gave him the sweetest face he could manage. "Ye were Fierce and Ye were Beautiful. Two words I could always use to describe you in a sentence my friend." He insisted. "Don't ever let anyone else tell ye yer not either of those." He paused and shook his head. "I don't think I could have ever had a prettier sight to think on."

Anna could not help but smile when he made the 'sh' motion and agreed to keep her secret. She knew she could always trust him with her secrets. Her smile widened when he did that deep chuckle of his. She assumed he froze because she had surprised him, nothing more. She would scoff slightly, "Take my word for it, you look good." She was just impulsive enough to admit that without feeling too awkard about it. Then she teased, "If ye want, I can try harder to give ye gray hair." She chuckled softly at that. She was not sure, but she thought she might have seen him starting to blush? She did a double take. Nah.
Anna would then be distracted by Enda reaching for and taking her hand once again. She did not have a utensil in her hand at the time, thankfully. Though her gaze watches their hands, as she listens to Enda's deep voice. She blinks, trying not to cry, and it was not the first time he had nearly broken her resolve, but this, this was different. She felt choked up, like she could not speak. Usually she would argue, or joke around, but he had said it so seriously. Like he really believed she was fierce and beautiful. "Enda," she said softly, unable to find any words. She would lift his hand to her cheek, her hand on the back of his while his palm would rest on her face. She closed her eyes, uncertain how to deal with the feelings that were stirred up with his words. Softly, "Thank you, that is probably the sweetest thing anyone has e'er said to me."
