General Behavior: Basically he has a higher/holier than thou art attitude towards..well..everyone. Spiders will make him scream like a little girl. Seriously. But if anyone says anything about it, they're smart enough to do so where he can't hear. Blood makes him squeamish, which is ironic, considering his love for war. Dirt disgusts him, and he will literally wash his hands a minimum of ten times a day, even if it is a waste of water. He also bathes at least twice a day. He hates his son, but absolutely adores his daughter and dotes on her more than most loving fathers would ever dream of. He literally buys her anything that she asks for, and because of his adoration for her he will not marry her off. Or at least not to just anyone. Part of his hatred for his son stems from the fact that he is secretly attracted to him in a way that no father should ever be to their children. Which is part of the reason he doesn't believe that Tadgh is actually his child (despite the family resemblance.)

{ H I S T O R Y }



Duncan was born the only child of Angus and Gail Payne, former monarchs of Scotland. Because he was their only child, and a male, he was spoiled rotten growing up. He was given the life that he didn't give his own son, but he will never see it that way. His parents pampered him and trained him to be the king at the same time. He hated training, especially in tactics and sparring. Tactics were boring, and sparring was too dirty and painful. But, they were both things that he was forced to do and tested on time and time again until he finally understood the concepts of tactics and enough about fighting that he could hold his own in a battle. When he was 18 war came to Scotland..or really Scotland went to war. Angus sent his son off to war and it wasn't long before Duncan came running home with his tail tucked between his legs. From that day forward, Angus treated him differently.



However, it wasn't long before Angus passed and Duncan took up the throne of Scotland. He all but exiled his mother, leaving her behind at the winter palace when the court would move to the summer palace and things like that. He married Deirdre at 19, so she became the queen when he became the king. However, there was never much love between the two of them. When Davina was born the rift between the two of them grew exponentially, and then when Tadgh was conceived and Duncan heard rumors that his wife had been unfaithful to him, the rift grew to nearly the size of an entire country. Tadgh was born a male, and because he could not divorce Deirdre, Duncan was forced to claim Tadgh as his own. For a little while he acted as though he believed that the prince was his child; mostly because of the similarities in their appearances. However, after a while he began treating the child as if he were the result of his mother's infidelity. And since then has constantly jumped back and forth between both beliefs. He always pretends to treat him as his own and as a prince when they are in public, though.
