He stood with his arms crossed over his chest as he watched her do her thing. A smirk tugged at his lips with the way she decided to perform the action of killing the man and when she turned to look at him he nodded. She'd done well for a kid. Actually, he was quite proud of her that she hadn't let the idea of killing someone stop her from doing the dead. It was something that he had fought with himself for a long time, and to this day the majority of his bounties he regretted. However, when she stepped forward with the crown and placed it on his head his eyebrows rose and he starred at her. "Wait. What? Are you telling me that we're going to say I killed the king in a duel for his crown or some shit? Because I don't want to be an Earl, never mind a king," he said, horror etched across his face.
She didn't have much time to respond before a servant pushed open the door to the audience chamber and he whirled around to face the person. Shit. He'd never been caught before. The woman looked at him, looked at Risteard's body, and a grin flashed across her face. "Oh, good. There's a new king. This will be well received," she said as she pushed through the door and came to give a deep bow to Aodh. He starred down at the back of her head and then flashed Ciannait the same look of horror that he'd given her earlier. 'What am I supposed to do,' he mouthed at the girl.

When he asked if they were supposed to say it was a duel she would shake her head, "No, hopefully we won't have to say anything. But if we get cau-" she would break off, unable to finish as a servant walked in. She would groan when the lady spoke about there being a new king, though she was glad that she'd had the idea. If she hadn't placed the crown on his head they'd likely be in shackles by now. When he mouthed a question at her she would shrug slightly, shifting closer to him so that she could whisper in his ear, "Just go along with it until you can find a suitable replacement. I need to go find the Princess," she would whisper quietly, shifting to offer him an apologetic pat on the back before slipping quickly out of the door behind them. This was going to be a bit harder than getting to the King as she wasn't sure where the lady might be. She knew that the woman liked archery and would head to the range first. Finding her was the only hard part about it, though. Losing Quinlan's death had made her hungry for blood, and she was determined to cross some people off of the list of those she held accountable.

Him? Pretend to be royalty? Yeah..that would go over about as well as a fucking bounty hunter pretending to be an Earl. Oh wait. When Ciannait excused herself he balked and glanced down at the servant who was still kneeling at his feet. "Oh get up already, would you?" he snapped. He hadn't meant to, it was just..This was beyond overwhelming to him. How was he supposed to pretend to be the king and then find someone who could actually take over as the ruler of the Western kingdom? He certainly couldn't continue to do this for very long. The kingdom would be in ruins if he tried to keep the position permanently. The servant rose, but kept her head bowed, and cleared her throat. He glanced at her. "Speak," was all he said. "Your highness, forgive me, but perhaps we should let the people know that there is a new king," she said. He cringed at her words and rubbed a hand over his face. This was definitely not something he was prepared to deal with. His thoughts went to Anna; the captain of the guard. Maybe she could help him out. "Fine," he said on a sigh. "But I need to meet with a few people. I know the Captain is on leave, but there's a commander somewhere around here. I think arranging a meeting with him would be the place to start," he said a bit uncertainly. "Of course, your highness," the woman said as she dipped him the lowest curtsy he'd ever seen and then scurried off.
