She laughed at Abi's responses and just squeezed her gently at first. Her eyebrows raised when she said that she was worried about the older sister, but she nodded and released a soft sigh. "Ah. Yes. I think I know why she's the way she is. In the correspondence that I had with their parents her father informed me that she might be a bit bitter around us for a while," she said, chewing on her lower lip. "Apparently she fell in love with another woman, and before I announced our betrothal to the kingdom her parents went a little nuts about it. Evidently they now regret how they treated the poor girl, but it seems that the damage may have already been done," she said with a sigh. "It sounded like she was completely broken when they tore her away from the girl that she was in love with," she explained with another sigh. "I wish they would have said something to me when they found out about it at first instead of reacting like that immediately. It could have ended up so much better if they had known that I wouldn't be bothered by her falling in love with who she had. People tended to blame me for taking their children away from who they actually loved when it came to things like that before I announced our betrothal," she said with a frown. She hated that people had done that. Claim that she would be embarrassed to have anyone with a title in love with someone that was the same gender as they were. It irritated her.

She would frown when Morgan began to explain about the girl, feeling her heart ache for Casidhe. She’d been in a similar situation, though she couldn’t say that she had been in love with the girl that her father had caught her with; it’d been more of a crush, and experimentation. It was nowhere near what she felt like with Morgan, and she realized now that kissing that girl had been completely innocent compared to how she often kissed Morgan. But, her parents hadn’t seen it that way, and she hadn’t known then, so she knew firsthand what the girl was going through. At least she hadn’t been sent away when they found out about it. “That’s terrible,” she would murmur softly, her brows furrowing slightly together. She felt bad for rubbing it in the girl’s face, though she knew that there wasn’t much that she could do about it now.
When she heard her love say that she wished that people would have talked to her about it before they just assumed she would frown, shifting to gently kiss her cheek, “I know. I’m just glad that most of them won’t do it anymore,” she would say softly, though she did know that there were some that would. “People can’t honestly believe that it’s your fault, though. They have to take responsibility for their own actions, and if they think that a Queen would care about silly little things like that, then maybe they should be more worried about their royalty being embarrassed about having stupid nobles,” she would say with a soft sigh.

She nodded to Abi's comment about it being terrible. "I hope that some people will open their eyes anyway," she said on a sigh. She hated that people tried to use her as an excuse for their own stupidity. She laughed at Abi's last comment and how close it came to her own train of thought. She leaned up and pressed a kiss to Abi's lips. "Sometimes I swear you can read my mind," she teased gently. "I was thinking almost the exact same thing that you just said," she laughed. "Unfortunately, however, it seems as though people have been using royalty as an excuse for their own stupidity for centuries," she said with a shake of her head. She shifted in the chair and smiled at Abaigael as she pressed another soft kiss to the woman's cheek. "Maybe some day they will learn to take responsibility for their own actions. And maybe some day they'll learn to be more accepting of the people that others fall in love with," she said on a sigh. Part of her wasn't sure if she believed that was a possibility, but then..everyone had seemed to take her betrothal to Abi quite well. Maybe there was hope for the future.

When Morgan said that sometimes she swore that Abi could read her mind she would grin, gently kissing the woman back, “Maybe I can,” she would tease, only to sober as she listened to the rest of what the woman had to say. “There are a lot of maybes,” she would comment, a frown tugging at the corners of her lips, “Though, it would be nice if all of that did happen. But, I can’t imagine it being any different. It’s your kingdom, so everything that goes wrong in it can be blamed on you. If a cow goes missing it just has to be that damned Queen’s fault,” she would say, her tone turning mocking towards the end. She would contemplate the idea of people just accepting who a person was in love with and would smile slightly, “Well, I think they’ve done pretty well with us,” she would say with a shrug, “Though, there’s always difficulties when it comes to those kinds of things. You can’t marry off a man and a woman without there being issues, what makes you think doing the same for two women would be any easier?” she would ask with a laugh, “Especially because it’s so different.”

She laughed at Abi's teasing. "Of course you can," she teased right back. "Yes, there are a lot of maybes. Unfortunately it seems that the world is full of them. She laughed again when Abaigael mocked something that she'd actually heard before from a few different people. "Of course everything's my fault," she said with a grimace. "People can't take responsibility for their own actions. I swear that's why we have royalty," she said with a laugh. There were times when she absolutely hated being the queen. Heck. She'd hated being a princess before she'd been married off to the prince of the southern kingdom. Being a royal wasn't nearly as fun or as interesting as a lot of people tried to make it out to be. Honestly she'd probably rather just live in the country with her love and not have to deal with the members of court anymore; even if this was all she'd ever known. "Ah. You're probably right there. But, then, it's possible that some day in the future all this arranging marriages business won't be as common and we'll all be able to marry someone that we love," she said and tried not to roll her eyes at the notion. It didn't seem very likely that something like that would ever happen, but sometimes she did hope for a better future for the world.

Upon hearing her say that this was why they had royalty she would laugh, “Of course it is, why else would we?” she would ask, her nose wrinkling playfully. When she began to talk about how someday in the future there might not be any arranged marriages and that they would all be able to marry for love she would laugh softly, shaking her head just a bit, “It truly is a nice idea, but I don’t think anybody would truly go for it,” she would say, shrugging. “I’m just glad that we were lucky enough to find each other…and that you have enough say to make it happen,” she would say with a grin, shifting to gently kiss her lips before resting her head against the other woman’s shoulder, a low yawn falling from her lips as she snuggles into her love. It was so easy for her to forget the bad and embrace only the good that it was almost scary; she seemed to have completely forgotten about earlier today and everything that had been said or happened- she was content to merely snuggle up with Morgan, and didn’t think twice about it. Her confession hadn’t even crossed her mind since almost immediately after the other woman had stopped talking about it.

She laughed. "Too true," she teased in response to Abi's first comment. "I have to agree with you there. Though it would be nice if someday there was less concern about nobility and more concern about love," she said with a frown. "I'm glad for that too," she said with a smile as she pressed a kiss to Abaigael's forehead. She watched her betrothed yawn and shook her head a moment before scooping her up so that she could stand and carry her over to the bed. She laid her down before she crawled into the bed next to her and smiled. "You, my lady, have made me the luckiest and happiest woman in the world by being with me and agreeing to marry me. I love you with all my heart," she whispered into the other woman's ear as she pulled her close and tucked her against herself. A yawn parted her own lips. The day had been long and full of emotion, but somehow everything had seemed to work out. She was thrilled that Abi hadn't rejected her after the news that she had given her, and even happier that Abi had accepted the two young women who were to be her ladies-in-waiting.

She would laugh when Morgan picked her up before moving to lay her down in bed, crawling in after her. When the woman whispered in her ear she would smile softly, shifting to gently kiss her cheek, “I love you too, and I’m happy that I could make you so happy,” she would whisper softly with a smile, shifting to gently nuzzle into her neck for a moment or two as the other woman pulled her close. She would close her eyes for a moment, reaching up to gently brush her fingers over her cheek before pulling back just a bit, “I kind of want to change,” she would murmur, an apologetic smile dancing over her face before she moves to get out of the bed. Once out of the bed she would bite her bottom lip for a moment, glancing at Morgan before shaking her head slightly, “I’m gonna go find something of my own to wear,” she would say, moving to go to her own chambers. She knew that she had something there to wear, but if she was being honest she didn’t really want to change in front of the other woman; feeling rather insecure at the moment, mostly because of the scars that lined the majority of her back.
When she got to her rooms she would sit for a moment, letting her gaze roam briefly around the space that she hardly used anymore before moving to change. She took her time with changing, choosing something more comfortable, which was probably a nightshirt or something of the like. After she was done she would linger for a few more moments before finally going back to Morgan’s chambers, entering quietly.

She smiled when Abi said that she was glad to be able to make her so happy. She pressed a kiss to the woman's nose, but when she decided that she wanted to change a frown tugged at her lips. However, she simply nodded and let the woman go. When she said she wanted something of her own she still didn't try to stop her. Instead she took the opportunity to climb out of bed and change into her own night shirt. By the time she finished Abi still hadn't returned so she shrugged and crawled back into bed, pulling the covers over herself. She found herself struggling to stay awake while she waited for the other woman to return. Her eyes drifted closed several times and she had to jerk herself awake. However, by the time Abaigael finally returned she'd fallen asleep despite her best efforts to stay awake. Evidently the events of the day had taken their toll on the poor woman, because she was so soundly asleep that she didn't even flinch when Abi opened the door. The most she did was roll over to get more comfortable, but even then it would be easy to tell that she was still asleep.

Upon entering the room her gaze would drift over to the bed, a sigh falling from her lips when she notices that Morgan was asleep. She had expected the woman to wait up for her, but she couldn’t really be upset about her not. She didn’t figure that she would be able to sleep very well anyways; she didn’t usually sleep very well . She would gently bite her bottom lip as she watches the woman sleep for a moment or two before moving to sit at the edge of the bed, letting her gaze roam over the room before shaking her head slightly. She’d been tired just a few moments ago, but now that exhaustion had disappeared. Which was pretty crappy, but there wasn’t much she could do about it now. She would sigh softly before moving to stand and walk around to the other side of the bed, leaning in to gently press a kiss to Morgan’s forehead before moving to walk from the room, being sure to do so quietly; she didn’t want to wake the woman. She usually walked the halls and such when she couldn’t sleep, and she didn’t figure she’d be missed while Morgan was sleeping anyways.

Post by Moira Coughlan on Jul 10, 2014 4:44:56 GMT
Moira had spent her night leaving the Eastern Kingdom behind her to go to the Southern Kingdom. Something in her needed to see her sister after years of just communicating mainly by notes. The time they last saw each other; Morgan had killed her husband but it was only briefly. Moira did her best to pick up what pieces she could of her twin sister. She stood in the Queen's Chambers in one of the waiting rooms. Her back was to the main bedroom's door that connected. Her eyes looking over the Kingdom. Moira wasn't one to really have an opinion on the new betrothal to the Maid of Honour. She never met Abi, though she was sort of also here to do so.
She was back in her northern dress, though it had no insignias on it. She stood with her hands clasping each forearm behind her back. She stood there somewhat tiredly too; for once she felt the need to sleep but she didn't nor hadn't since she had gotten there. She didn't know if her sister was still asleep but some part of her told her Morgan was. So as she waited she pondered on the conversation she had with Connall. It would be a lie if she didn't find him intriguing to say the least.

Morgan was, in fact, awake. She just wasn't quite ready to be seen by anyone yet. Having just rolled out of bed she was in the process of cleaning up and dressing when a servant entered her bedchamber to inform her that another queen was there. A smile claimed her lips as she realized that her sister must have come to visit. She hurried through changing her clothes and rushed out into the waiting room that the servant had said her sister was in. "Moira," she exclaimed, her face positively beaming with happiness at seeing her sister. She rushed forward, all queenly demeanor forgotten as she wrapped her twin in a tight hug. "I didn't expect you," she admitted as she stepped back. "But you look good, sister," she added with a grin. "Oh. It's so good to see you." Moira was the only person other than Abaigael that could make Morgan light up with joy. It still broke her heart to this day that she and her sister were so far away from one another. But. The random visits from her sister once in a while always seemed to leave her in a better mood for at least a week afterwards.

She heard the door open, turning around just in time to catch her twin in a hug. Smiling and chuckling to Morgan. "Hello Morgan." She would smile lovingly to her sister as Morgan stepped back. "It's nice to see you in a happier state." When she said that Moira looked good she placed her hand on her sister's cheek. Smiling. "You look even better then I!" She'd tease her. Taking her sister's hands and looked her over. She broke her calm for a moment and gave her a small giggle and bounce to her feet. "So I heard you're betrothed! What's her name?" Moira hadn't even thought it a man. There was no way that would happen again. She didn't judge her sister at all. Moira could break her calm just for her sister; like Morgan broke her cold. The two were inseparable when they had been princesses. Because of that Moira felt her sister's presence even when apart. She loved to visit her sister but little did she know Moira would find out what it would feel like to be accused of something and practically have to sit on her throne until her people would apologized for thinking she would plan to do something against Cahir. Though Morgan had really plotted something and had gotten the man she married poisoned.

She grinned at her sister's reaction to seeing her and couldn't help but imitate the little bounce thing that Moira did. "No one can look better than you, sister," she teased right back. She laughed when Moira said she heard that she was betrothed. Evidently that kind of news traveled pretty fast if her sister had heard about it already. Not that she hadn't been expecting as much, but still. "Her name is Abaigael O'Hara, and she's absolutely wonderful," she said, positively beaming. "Probably the only person in my kingdom that I can actually stand," she said with a laugh. "Except for you when you visit, of course." It had been a long time since Morgan was this happy. To have Abaigael agree to marry her and her sister visit within such a short amount of time between the two events. "Come," she said, ushering her sister to a set of chairs along one wall. "Sit with me. Tell me what's new. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages," she said with a smile. She moved to claim one of the chairs for herself and settled into it. "Please tell me someone has offed that worthless bastard you call a husband," she said, only partially teasing.
