A soft sigh drifted from her when Abi kissed her on the lips and she returned the kiss softly. "I love you too, Abi," she said softly. "And I'm glad that you still want to marry me." Her expression softened even more when the other woman spoke again. "I would never be the same without you, either," she said softly as she pressed her face against the side of Abaigael's head, inhaling the scent of her hair and letting her eyes fall closed again. Hearing Abi say that she couldn't leave lightened her mood a little bit, but she still didn't know what to do now. All she could think of to do was just hold the woman that she loved. She was afraid that if she moved Abi would think she was leaving again. She didn't want that to happen, and so she just laid there, as still as she possibly could, with her arms wrapped around the other woman. Eventually she would have to shift so that she could prevent her limbs from going numb because she'd been laying in the same position for too long. So she shifted a little bit to get more comfortable, but not enough to make Abi think that she was leaving again, hopefully.

NPC POST
A servant walked down the palace halls towards the queen's chambers with the Ahearn sisters in tow. The Queen had agreed to have the two girls as ladies-in-waiting to her betrothed, and they had just arrived at the palace. The woman knocked on the door lightly and waited for the queen's voice to tell her to enter. Once it did she opened the door and ushered the girls inside. "Majesty," the servant said, turning and dipping a curtsy to the women as she realized they were laying in bed together. "The Ahearn sisters that are to be Lady O'Hara's ladies-in-waiting," she said uncertainly.

Abi lay there in silence, clinging tightly to Morgan as her thoughts slowly settled; well at least enough that they no longer made her dizzy. Her breathing had calmed as well, to where it didn’t sound as if she was about to hyperventilate, though she was still clinging onto Morgan tightly. Every time the other woman would shift she would as well, tightening her hold on the other woman as fear leapt into her throat. She knew that Morgan wasn’t going to leave her, but she still feared it anyways. Just as her eyes were beginning to grow heavy she heard a knock on the door, causing her to sigh. She thought over letting go of Morgan, and eventually decided that it was the best idea. She would slowly remove her arms from where they were wrapped tightly around the other woman and move to sit up on the bed, crossing her legs beneath her and reaching up to scrub her hands over her face, trying to make it look more like she’d just been woken up, and less like she’d been crying.
When Morgan called for them to enter she would blink, her brows rising slightly as a servant entered with two girls in two, around her own age. She would offer them a friendly smile, though when the servant said that they were her ladies in waiting she would blink, turning to look at Morgan for a moment. She hadn’t known, though she figured the deal must have been made sometime this morning possibly? She wasn’t sure, and instead of seeking answers she would turn back to the girls, “Well, welcome,” she would say with a smile before moving to climb from the bed. She would straighten her dress as best as she could before approaching them, “You can call me Abaigael,” she would say kindly, waiting to hear their names as well. This was a very nice distraction from the events that had transpired today, though there was still a hint of fear in her chest, and whenever appropriate her gaze would move to Morgan as if she was making sure the other woman was still there.

Morgan had been irritated by the knock at the door, but when the servant entered with the two young women she relaxed a bit. She moved off the bed at the same time as Abi and shook her head as if to clear it. "I'm sorry. The Grand Duke and his wife wrote to me asking if I would take their daughters as ladies-in-waiting, and I told them that I would. I figured that you could use them more than I could," she said a bit sheepishly to the other woman. Afterwards she turned to the girls with a smile. "Welcome to court, ladies. You will report to Abaigael," she paused, realizing that she'd almost taken over. "Sorry. Force of habit. Anyway. Abaigael will tell you what you need to know," she said, stepping back to allow her betrothed to take over with their instructions. She flashed a small smile and then retreated to a chair that wasn't far from her bed. Abi could handle this perfectly well on her own. Of that she had no doubt. She watched silently for a moment before she picked up a book on the table next to her chair and began to read.

Alana had entered the palace and walked down the halls practically clinging to her older sister. This whole thing made her extremely nervous because she'd heard that the queen wasn't always a pleasant woman to be around. She chewed on her lower lip as they walked, and when they entered the queen's chambers she had to force herself to let go of Casidhe. She looked around and spotted both the queen and her betrothed as they climbed out of the bed and couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips. While women weren't her choice as far as attraction went, she could see these two were clearly in love. Love, to her, was a beautiful, magical thing. It was also something that she desperately craved for herself, but she wasn't sure it would ever come to pass. Of course, as a relatively naive young woman she couldn't help but hold out hope that it would happen for her some day.
When Abaigael and Morgan came over to greet them she dipped a low curtsy to both of them and held it for a moment or two before standing back up. "Nice to meet you, Lady Abaigael," she said respectfully. "I am Alana Ahearn, daughter and heir of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess," she said, introducing herself. She would let Casidhe introduce herself and then turn expectantly to Abi, though she couldn't help the smile that curved her lips at Morgan's words. "Thank you both for the welcome," she added as almost an after thought.

Casidhe had allowed her sister to pretty much cling to her as they entered the palace and walked down the halls. When they entered the queen's bedchambers she noticed that she and her betrothed were still laying in the bed. The two quickly got up when the servant introduced them, and her blue gaze immediately followed Abaigael. Her chest tightened as she noticed just how beautiful the woman was, and a pang of jealousy shot through her that the queen should be allowed to be with the woman that she loved when her parents had taken that from her. She wanted to sigh or scream at the injustice, but she did her best to keep a straight face and not react to the situation. When Abaigael presented herself to them she dipped the same curtsy that her little sister did and waited until Alana was finished to introduce herself. "And I am Casidhe Ahearn, eldest daughter of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess," she stated simply. Her gaze flicked to Morgan when the other woman started to take over the situation, but then backed down to let Abaigael handle it. A smile tugged at her lips as she found a new respect for the queen. She knew it must be hard to let someone else do things when; even when her husband had been alive, she was used to doing everything on her own.

She couldn’t help but smile at Morgan when she started to speak, only to back off and go sit down. She would have to withhold a chuckle, though honestly she was a tad bit uncomfortable being left to do this by herself. She had no idea what she would do with a lady-in-waiting, much less two. However, she would turn her attention first the Alana, and then to Casidhe as they both introduced themselves before finally taking the opportunity to speak, “It’s a pleasure to have you both here, I have heard many great things about you,” she would say with a smile. It wasn’t entirely a lie; she had heard that they were both very pretty young ladies, though honestly she hadn’t heard much else. It wasn’t like she would tell them that, anyways. She would glance between the two women for a moment before gesturing for them to take a seat, and as they did she would turn to the servant with a gracious smile, “Thank you very much,” she would say, dismissing the woman kindly before turning back to the Ahearn sisters. She honestly had no idea what she was supposed to do with them; they were supposed to be her companions, but her only companion at court had ever been Morgan, and she certainly wasn’t going to be their Morgan.
After a moment or two she would move to sit across from them, wishing silently that the Queen would have taken over the conversation like she usually did. “So, tell me about yourselves,” she would murmur kindly. She supposed if she was going to be around these two ladies that she would need to know at least a little bit about them. She figured that after they were done chattering that she could show them to their rooms and whatnot, or maybe have a servant do that? She wasn’t sure. She tried not to show that she felt awkward in this situation, which she was honestly pretty good at. Unless it was Morgan she was rather good at hiding her emotions.

When the introductions were over Alana had to fight the urge to cling to her sister again. It was a hard thing to force herself not to do, considering it was a really big habit of hers. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well," she said and walked over to the chairs that Abi had ushered them over to. She settled in one next to her sister and wrapped her arms around herself to feel a bit more secure. "We've heard many good things about you too," she said softly. It wasn't a lie in the least. She'd heard about both the woman's beauty and her sweet demeanor. It was said that it was her sweetness that had caused Morgan to fall for the woman, but since she didn't know anything about love she wouldn't be making any deductions about their relationship. About the only thing she could deduce was that they were definitely in love with one another, and that made her smile.
Abi's words when she asked them to tell themselves about her made her cringe inwardly. She wasn't very good at this whole socializing thing, and her gaze flicked to her sister. She took a deep breath, though, knowing that this was part of the reason that her parents had sent her to court. Turning her head back to the woman she flashed a small smile. "Well," she said and shifted slightly so that she was a bit more comfortable. "I'm the younger sister at fifteen," she started. "Um. Our parents named me as their heir, and sent us here because I guess I'm not up to their standards as far as an heir goes just yet," she admitted sheepishly with a soft frown.

She nodded in agreement with her little sister as they wandered over to the chairs that Abi had pointed out to them. She settled in one on one side of her sister and reached over to squeeze her forearm encouragingly when she began to speak to Abaigael. When Lany was finished speaking she laughed. "She's being modest. Alana is a very smart woman," she started. "She's also one of the sweetest people you will ever meet," she said, sounding quite sure of herself. "As for me, I'm the older sister at 17, but she's definitely the more level-headed one of us, which is why our parents chose her as their heir and not me. I'm a bit too hot-headed to hold such a high title," she said with a grin. "And they sent me here because Lany needs her older sister to watch over her," she teased her little sister gently and she could see the struggle on Alana's face as the girl tried not to childishly stick her tongue out at her older sister. She resisted the urge to giggle at the look on Lany's face before she turned her attention back to Abaigael. "What about you," she asked with a tilt of her head.

Abi couldn’t help but smile softly at the younger girl’s response, “You’re still young, I’m sure you’ll get there,” she would say, her tone kind. She didn’t know the girl yet, so she couldn’t tell if what her parents felt was true, but she had a feeling it was. She was just too shy to be an heir, she only hoped that she would be able to help her. When the other girl laughed she would grin, turning her attention to her as she rained praises down upon her sister, “Well, intelligence is definitely a good trait to have,” she would murmur, more trying to assure them that she was interested in the conversation than anything else. When she spoke about why she’d been passed up, and that it was part of the reasons she was here she couldn’t help but frown just slightly, “I’m glad that you’re here, either way,” she would murmur, though she wondered if the other sibling was so shy because her sister enabled her to be that way.
When the question was turned back on her she would purse her lips for a moment before finally smiling, “Well, I’m seventeen as well. The youngest daughter of the Viscount of Pearblossom,” she would murmur softly, humming as she tried to think of what else to say. “I was sent to court when I was just a bit younger than you, Alana, because my father was afraid that…I wasn’t enough of a lady for his standards,” she would say. It was mostly true; she just didn’t tell them why her father had thought her not enough of a lady. “I became Queen Morgan’s Maid of Honor shortly after I arrived, and now we are betrothed,” she would finish with a grin, leaving out the details in between.

Alana's cheeks colored with a blush when her sister rained praises down on her. It was something that Casidhe did often, and something that she was definitely grateful for. It just made her feel a little bit better about herself every time she did it. Her expression softened when Abaigael spoke about herself and she felt bad for the other woman for a moment, but then she spoke about her relationship with Morgan and she couldn't help the "Aww," that escaped her lips. She loved the stories that she'd heard about the love between the queen and her maid-of-honor turned betrothed. Of course she wouldn't really say that in front of the other woman. She didn't want Abi to think that she'd talked about the woman before ever having met her. Even if she was sure that the queen's betrothed was well aware that other people talked about her and her relationship with the queen. Her attention drifted to her sister for a moment as she shifted slightly in her seat, not really sure what to say now. Suddenly she felt weary from the trip to the palace, and she found herself having to stifle a yawn so as to not be rude. She blinked her eyes rapidly and looked around the queen's bed chambers.

She too shifted in her seat, but her shifting was more about getting comfortable than it was about being uncomfortable in the situation. She cast a glance towards her sister, but shook her head after a moment and turned her attention back to Abaigael when she spoke again. "Oh wow. I didn't realize you were the same age as me," she said flashing the other woman a smile. When she briefly mentioned her relationship with the queen it was like a pain shot through her chest. Her parents had taken her from the girl that she'd fallen in love with, and it had upset her a great deal when she'd found out that Morgan had announced her betrothal to the woman she'd been in love with for these last couple or few years. "It must be exciting to finally be planning to marry the person you love," she said softly, a hint of jealousy in her tone when she spoke the words. She tried her best to hide it, but that wound was still fresh for her and she still wanted to claw out her parents' eyes over it. She caught a warning glare from her little sister and had to smile. There were times when Alana could be more than just the shy, innocent, little, naive girl that she appeared to be.

She would smile and nod when Casidhe noticed that they were of the same age, “Yes, I am,” she would say, though she would hope it wouldn’t make things awkward; her having to take direction from somebody who was the same age as her. When she heard Alana’s ‘Aww’ she couldn’t help but grin, though a blush did darken her cheeks. She didn’t know what to say to it though, and would thus turn back to the other sister as she started to speak. She couldn’t help but notice the undertone to her voice, which spoke of some ill emotion, and she would frown just slightly, her gaze flicking from the girl and over to Morgan for a brief moment before shifting back, “Yes, it is. We never thought that it would be possible, so it’s definitely exciting. And speaking of planning the wedding, I would definitely enjoy help with it,” she would say with a smile, letting her gaze shift to Alana so that she knew that she was speaking to the both of them. She figured that it would give them both something to do, and besides they were supposed to help plan royal parties and such anyways. She was suddenly concerned for the older sister, and couldn’t help but wonder what had been the cause behind the ill tone to her voice. She knew that it would bug her until she found out because she would want to try to help, but that was just Abi for you.

She practically leaped from her seat with excitement when Abi said that she would need help with planning the wedding. "Oh," she exclaimed. "I love weddings," she said with a grin. She'd definitely seen enough of them in her time at home. "Actually, I love everything to do with weddings," she said with a bright grin. "Flowers, music, dancing, laughter." So it seemed there was a way to get the girl to open up, talk about something that she liked. "What flowers are you going to have at the wedding? Oh. Have you chosen a color scheme? And what kind of wedding will it be?" she asked the questions rapidly and then realized that she hadn't given the woman time to answer. She blushed a bit. "Sorry," she muttered softly and forced herself to sit back in her chair as she had previously moved to the edge of her seat at the idea of helping to plan a wedding. "I think you should try to stick as closely as possible to whatever dream wedding you might have had growing up," she added with a smile. "I've seen some really cool ideas come to life in weddings," she added a bit sheepishly.

Cas smiled outwardly when Abaigael touched on one of Alana's favorite subjects; weddings. She didn't personally care for them one way or another most of the time, though recently they seemed to remind her of the love that she had lost. She sat back in her chair as Alana assaulted Abaigael with questions about the details of the wedding. Wedding planning wasn't really her thing, and she hadn't paid enough attention at any weddings that she'd been to to offer much help in that area. So instead of saying anything she sat back and listened. Her eyes started to droop after a few moments and she leaned against the back of her chair to let her eyes close for a moment or two. The ride to the palace had indeed proven to be an exhausting one, and she only intended to rest her eyes for a little while. However, she at some point ended up falling asleep. The only indication that anyone would have of her sleeping state would be if they were to speak to her. Well; that, and her breathing was a lot more even when she slept. She wasn't the type to snore and let everyone know that she was sleeping.Thank the gods for small favors right?
